Hi Guys. I promised I would do this a couple of weeks ago but I was way too busy having holidays - my apologies, but now I am back at work and have little to do I thought I better get onto this.  ;)

First let me say I absolutely love my Ipad. Apart from the TMX it is the best investment we have ever made. I take it everywhere and use it all day long. A bit like Gert. Addicted!!!  I got mine when they first came out so paid way way too much (they are now 1/2 the price) and mine doesnt have a camera and is a little bulky. The newer version is much better i'm told. But I still love it nonetheless.

I wont list them all off as I have hundreds, but I have all of my apps in Folders for ease of use.

Eg.

Productivity - Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Maps, Settings, Postcode Search, Calculator
Lifestyle - Ebay, Domain, xe Currency Convertor, Australia Post, All the Deals, Aus TV & Movie Guide
Books - ibooks, Audio Books, Perfect Reader, Free Books, Kindle, itranslate
Games with Friends - Words with Friends, hanging with Friends, Bejewled 2, Romi, Jumbline 2
Social - Facebook, Twitter, Skype, You Tube
Games - lots !
Kid Stuff - for the nieces :)
Cooking - ABC Foodi, All recipes AU, Big Oven, Betty Crocker Cookbook, Poh's Kitchen, Epicurious, Harvey Norman Recipe Organiser, Jamie Oliver
Cookbooks - AWW, Robo Gourmet, Dinner Spinner, Thermomix
etc etc

I also have a folder called healthy cooking with icons to all of my favourite web pages and blogs such as this wonderful forum, Janella Purcell, Full Little Tummies, Real Meals, Steph Berg, My New Roots, etc etc

I pretty much have an app for everything! Love it love it love it!

Ive posted a pic so you can see the folders :)

Thank you so  much for that. I went mad on my one third of an ipad and downloaded a few things related to cooking. Now you have suggested some more I might do the same today. We already have quite a few of your suggestions already. DD is playing Words with Friends with people all over the world. It truly amazed me. Judy this is basically Scrabble.

Wow  :o just a few there lisa!

I finally went to the Telstra shop yesterday and picked up my  free sim. It's now activated but when I checked the balance on line it only said 3gig. I rang and the guy I spoke to couldn't apologise enough and gave me an extra gig!  I now have 6 gig to use up in 30 days.    :o.

Will take it out tomorrow to see what it's like but just playing with it at home it appears to be as fast as our ADSL 2.  The real test for me will be when we go down the coast in a couple of weeks.

As for apps, I haven't gone down that road too much yet but I'm sure there will be some that will interest me.

DH got his iPad in just 1 day from Apple and he is completely in love with it too. We put off for so long getting them but don't regret it at all.  :)

At least when I get mine I will only have to pay for 2/3s of it.  :D

lisaarnold, don't worry about the thought that you paid too much, I've bought both the first and second ipad within a day of their release and they were almost exactly the same price. I sold my first one on ebay the day I got my hands on the second one and got 80% of the original price. As far as I've been able to tell the price reduction between the two models was only about 10% which is nothing when you think about how much you have used it.

I looked at them in Harvey Norman today but no-one came up to help answer any questions, I should say all my questions :-))
so I didn't hang around.  I read somewhere on the net that HN are not that crash hot with after sales service so thought I had better speak with DD and DSIL before going any further.

Wonder ,  we also have used the Apple store and the young people are now like family.  Nothing is too much trouble for them,  and do we hit them with some funny problems.  We have heard that a new one is coming out in April/May.  Judy go to the Apple shop and have a good play with the ones that they have available.  This is what the kids do.  Every time you touch it you learn something new.

ARGH this thread is becoming as bad as the shopping thread!!!  :o :o :o :o :o

I am desperately trying to resist an iPad for the moment and you really are not helping  :D

JD I recommend going to the Apple store too or if a JB Hi Fi is closer go in there but ask them for their Apple specific staff member - apparently most stores have them. The guy at mine is brilliant  :)

Judy, I think you underestimate abilities, you do an amazing job on the forum and the iPad is so easy once you gve it a try (a bit like first attempts with the TMX) you will be wondering what you were worried about in in time.
