Using the Varoma for gentle cooking of meat.
« on: April 06, 2009, 06:23:32 am »
Something that I have used my Varoma for is to gently steam meat prior to grilling.  It may sound like a waste of time and effort, but for some meats like quail I really believe it is handy.  If you are cooking a vegie dish in the bowl, then it is perfect to steam the meat in the Varoma at the same time.

After abandoning my blog for some time I have finally put a post there about using the Varoma:

I thought that I had posted something here after first publishing it on the Italian forum, but maybe I was dreaming. ;) ;)

A lot of the BBQ folks have been talking about warming up steaks by sealing them in a plastic bag and soaking them in hot water before grilling them.  I believe they then use hotter temps to get that external char quickly, without needing to wait so long to raise the internal temp....
