Five spice pork & veal patties

Name of Recipe:. Five spice pork & veal patties
Number of People: 4

Ingredients:

500g pork & veal mince
1/2 onion, chopped in half
1clove garlic
30g bread
1/2 tsp. Chinese five spice powder
1egg
Salt to taste

Preparation:

Chop the bread to make crumbs, set aside.
Add the onion & garlic clove, and chop 4 seconds, speed 5.
Add the mince, egg, five spice, salt and bread crumbs & mix for 30 seconds  :: speed.
Shape into 8 smaller patties, and chill uncovered on a plate lined with grease proof paper for at least 30 minutes.
Heat rice bran oil in a frypan, and cook on medium low heat for 5 minutes per side.

Tips/Hints:

Patties nice topped with chilli jam or sweet sour sauce etc.
Next time I will double recipe as the family were looking for more.

Thanks for this recipe, Maddy.

My tweaks:  I was low on salt, so I added Vege Stock Concentraate.

I wanted to steam, so I was guided by the Sweet andd Sour Meatballs with Vegetables recipe in old EDC (Spiral-bound).

I doubled the recipe, but processed it in two batches.

Lovely and easy!  Thanks again.
