As the title suggests I made bolognese for dinner, as per normal, it has always worked before.  I noticed it was taking a loooong time to heat up to varoma temp, to really reduce the sauce, I kept having to add another 15mins to the cooking time.  So after about an hour it started to bubble.  Even when bubbling it didn't seem to have the same ferocity of bubble IYKWIM.
I cooked it for another half and hour (at least) to try and reduce it.  It ended up being like soup, really thin, and when I poured it out there is a thick burnt layer on the bottom.  I'm going to try to have to attack it with some steel wool  >:(

I have no idea what has caused this, my husband is livid and asking about refunds!  Anyone else had a similar problem??  I've only had the unit since November so will be ringing the service centre on Monday.

RJ I want you to really think back to what you were doing when you added the liquid ingredients especially. I can't help but think that you may have made a little boo boo this time (oops just a suggestion). If it ended up differently to how you have made it before, I think you have done something different than what you have previously done  ;) Next week or whenever, make it again and see what happens...let us know  :)

I think my mum used to get burnt off food off saucepans by adding a heap of bicarb soda and enough water and then heating again. Anyone else know of this one???

RJ on your delivery report down the bottom on the left hand column is the instructions for the first cleaning using vinegar (if you don't have the report let me know and I will post the instructions) I would suggest you follow that for cleaning your bowl or using a soft cloth and some carb soda or gumption.

Never use anything in your bowl that will scratch it.

If you do the steam clean it will also give you an indication of the heating that you will be able to report back to us with.

Your consultant would be your first port of call on Monday after the steam clean and she sort it with head office for you  ;)

Try looking at this thread and see if it is of any help to you with cleaning your bowl.  I know there is another link somewhere on this forum that has a lot of ideas about cleaning burnt on foods, JD found it and posted it, but I cannot find it anywhere just now, I'll keep looking.

Good luck.
