Quick Fix in the Thermomix Onion jam review
« on: January 07, 2012, 11:00:40 am »
First of all i would like to say that this tastes great.

Given that the cooking time is 85 mins.  I think i would make double next time as the recipe only makes i cup.
The recipe is clear, simple and easy to follow.
I would like a weight measurement for the onions.  I weighed mine and they were 540g.

Will make again.

You usually eat "pickle" ( Branston type) and/or pickled onions with a ploughman's but onion jam would go down a treat.I LOVE onion jam but DH isn't keen, but I like smothering it in a butty on top of either cheese or cold meat. ;) Great to use in a toasted butty as well. ;D

Thanks CC.   I have made it for DH to have with grilled steak.   Perhaps on pizza?

I think your right Chookie, it enhances any savoury recipe.

I always have Thermomixer's onion jam in the fridge and add to recipes for a little flavour boost. Always add it to the gravy in bangers and mash.

oh dear!!  sitting here totally red faced ???  Almost within a couple of seconds I found the recipe in jams, etc. by thermixer- the Greg Malouf one, and thought that was the  one, you were referring to - had been looking previously in condiments.  As soon as I found it I thought that perhaps the post hadn't been seen yet given the short lapse of time and instead of saying that I found the recipe I saw the delete button  . . . .*hangs head sits in corner with face to wall!!* . . .. sorry!!!  should have left if there . . I'm learning!!

Thanks fundj - I do appreciate it and I'll certainly be giving it a go this afternoon!!

Had some for lunch today with steak, and DH gave it the his approval.  I had a bit also and for such a simple recipe it is good.

Goldfish, someone is always on the forum so even though you thought you had deleted it before anyone read it, not so  ;D ;D
You have to be very quick to get past Uni  ;D
