I made this beautiful jam today. Chookie is right - I should have made a double batch.
I used it in a Donna Hay Recipe - Caramelised onion and pumpkin free form tart. Yummy.

Iam making this jam now, question might sound silly but how long does it last in the fridge?  :)

Helene has a similar recipe on the super kitchenmachine website. She says her recipe lasts for 10 days in the fridge. I've made her recipe and had it last much longer (weeks and weeks from memory) and it still made the delicious onion flan she mentions.

I would expect the QFITT recipe would last at least 10 days as well but haven't made it yet.

I made Helene's recipe about one month ago and still have it in the fridge (forgot it was there, actually)  Will have to use it up as it is absolutely delicious - add it to sandwiches for my lunch as well as everything and anything else I can think of - would hate to lose it to old age!

I made this tonight and the flavours are lovely, but I think that chopping the onions for 5 sec on speed 5 is way to much, mine went to mush, I like to see a bit more onion structure in my jam! I think next time I will only chop them for maybe 2-3 sec and then hand slice a few as well to get some longer pieces in.
It simply looks quite ugly now, like brown sludge, rather annoying. Oh well, tastes great!

I haven't made this recipe PaulaM but I wouldn't chop onions for 5 seconds either.  Then again I don't know how many onions are in this recipe.  I became a 2 sec/speed 5 onion chopper from very on in my thermomix life.

I have lost count of how many times I have made this.   It is delicious.

I am currently making it again (this time to give away for a friends Dad).  I love adding to to anything for a flavour boost, I regularly have it on my sandwiches, I had it with steak last night and it would be great with a cheese board or on a tart etc.

At a high tea recently I had some caramilsed onion tarts.  I immediately though of the onion jam and how that would be a quick and easy substitute.

I made this on Saturday night and used it in an onion tart, crumbled some marinated goats cheese on top with some sprigs of thyme.

It was yum, lots of compliments!
