Hello from a Melbourne newbie

Hi all,
I am very excited to be the proud new owner of a Thermomix and already it has been the life changing purchase that I hoped for! This forum is amazing - I have been doing lots of exploring and think that I have definitely found the perfect resource for me and my no doubt endless queries, questions as well as a sounding board for my enthusiasm!
About me - I am a married mum of 3 (8 year old son and 5 year old twins b/g) living in Melbourne's inner west. I am and have always been a really avid cook - it is one of the ways that I use to relax and I find it incredibly fulfulling but with 3 kids I also find it tiring - this is where the Thermomix is definitely going to become my best friend! Also one of my twins has Asperger's and I am really keen to provide him with as additive free a diet as possible as the benefits are obvious in relation to his mood swings.
Both my husband and I are retired opera singers (hence my net name - although my husband will tell you that I am more drama queen than diva) but I spend most of my time being a mum now (along with some teaching and being a Tupperware demonstrator) and my husband has a real job now :-)
Look forward to getting to know you all on the boards and apologies if some of my questions are a bit daft as I learn my way around!
Am just about to go and make some of Isi's Portugese bread rolls (big winners!)!
Cheers

Hi and welcome Thermodiva. You sound as though you have your hands full with the 3 children, very rewarding though. I had to laugh when you said your DH had a 'real' job now.
We're here to help with questions etc. We're all learning new things as we go. I've had my machine 4 years now and am still finding out new things.

Hello thermodiva and welcome to the forum. You will find cooking additive free food easy with the TMX. My DS has ADHD and mild aspergers and I have found that an additive free diet helps. I love how the TMX allows me know exactly what is going into the food we eat. I can now make my own chocolate sauce for ice creams and custard with no nasties in it. Since TMX arrived my son hardly goes without most foods, and this makes him happy.
Enjoy

Great to have another Melburnite on the forum. Congratulations on getting a TM. I have boy/girl 5 yo twins as well. I am also an avid cook and haven't looked back since getting my Thermomix. In fact I get withdrawal symptoms if I am away from it for more than 48 hours as it has totally revolutionized my cooking as well as time management skills. Enjoy the forum- it has the most knowledgeable people on this planet when it comes to using a Thermomix.

Hi ThermoDiva, it's great to have you here. No question is too daft on here, someone else probably wants to know the answer as well. You and your best friend will get along just fine and the kids will be all the better off because of it.

Welcome, Thermodiva. Glad you have joined us thermofanatics, it's so interesting and helpful here. We're getting a few more Melbourne / Victorian members now - maybe one day we can arrange some get-togethers like they do in Perth and Sydney. That would be fun.
