I found this post interesting to see what others do. My house is not spotless but I do like it tidy which is really hard with 5 kids and all their friends who visit regularly, I have found it even harder with my framing business getting busier and busier.
But I do have a routine where I wash clothes daily, I always like all the beds made first thing in the morning and I try to have all the rooms tidy.
I vacuum and mop twice a week ( used to be every second day)
Groceries are done Thursday fortnightly
Bedding changed weekly (but I usually change 2 or 3 beds one day and the rest the next day to save having a massive pile of washing on one day)
Other jobs are done as needed and when I have the time.
That reminds me I need to give all the windows a clean inside and out (Oh I hate that job), I also need to shampoo the carpets, oh and clean the gutters, and do some weeding, and spray for spiders, and my car needs a clean, must clean the fish tank too, and mow the lawns.........and...........and.........and

A woman's work is never done.

I finally got around to shining my sink - the first babystep in FLYlady's programme and it looks really good! I'm trying to establish the morning routine too.

Taking things slowly so hopefully they become permanent. Inspired to declutter too.

P.S - I must also admit that I don't shine my sink.  I did the initial clean and got it looking lovely but maintaining it was sending my batty. One little splash and I had the towel out wiping it. Aggghhhhh! There are enough worries in life without being concerned about drip marks in sinks!!!  :-)) :-)) :-))

Me too. I do it once per day and give it the odd swish if it's looking rough, otherwise I long since gave up on perfectionism with it.  Life's too short :-)

I still roughly stick to fly lady but the number of emails drove me mad so I unsubscribed pretty quickly.

I started FLYing about 9 years ago, and although I slip off the wagon here and there over the years I always get back on board again.  It's a life (or at least home) saver.

I started including DD2 in the morning cleaning routines this morning, I figured 'well she's 2 on Sunday, let's get her to work' ;-)
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

Incidentally, speaking of routines, if anyone has an iPad or iPhone there are 2 quite useful apps which I (roughly and intermittently) use : home routines which is based around fly lady and has a 15 min timer built in (can do other times too, that's just the default ) I use that if I not in the flow, or need a quick reminder.

The other is much more detailed / perfectionist and I don't look at it unless I'm doing well as it would depress me.  But when I'm doing well its great at really getting me on track with everything.  That's the motivated moms calendar.

I think as I was reading this topic this morning the flylady jumped out and bit me! It is so hot here but I buzzed around cleaning, vacuming, cleaned the fridge out, and cooked some bagels, and prepped some granola for toasting a bit later. Unbelievable, but I need I shower now to cool down and then I'm gonna sit back.

Good old Flylady aye CP.  Great effort on such a hot day.  I did the sink and the splashback but that's all I'm doing for the day, it is supposed to be a holiday afterall  ;)  My sink looks amazing, must pass this tip onto others. Thanks again Meagan.
