FFF, have fun at the demo and don't feel you have to get it straight away. what you want to do is see the demo and have a think about it and see if you have a rapport with your consultant as well, because that will make your journey with the tm even more enjoyable.
it isn't difficult to tell that we love our tms, and you know this forum will support you.

Welcome to the forum FFF  :D it does seem as though you are almost committed  ;) If you are also after some variety then let me tell you between your TMX and this forum you will get all the variety you could ever wish for.

Before my TMX 41/2 years ago I could only cook meat and boiled veg - now I cook all manner of things for our family and some of them are really just because I can so easily  :o

Another thing you will like is the ease in which you can do it after work - put your feet up and let it cook for you.

Make sure you let us know what you decide  ;)

Welcome to the forum. Seems like a lot of us were hesitant at first and now are converts.
Check out the recipes and see if you can't do the same thing with the appliances you already have?

Well, the demo was good and although I didn't order a TMX I definitely want one and will probably order soon - I'd like to do so this month so as to receive the 2 x insulated bowls.

As for the food, I'd been really looking forward to the sorbet but the one they made wasn't as nice as I'd expected, partly because they used a lime - I usually love the flavour of lime but I thought it made the sorbet a bit too bitter/strong.  Others there seemed to like it though.  I was very surprised to find that I loved the parsley and lemon juice, almost didn't try it at all because I didn't expect to enjoy it.  Another thing I hadn't expected to like was the salad made with raw broccoli & onion.. it was fantastic and I can see myself making it in the mornings before work, to take in for lunch (my colleagues might not be so thrilled about raw onion breath in the afternoon!!).  Soooo much nicer than the ready-made salads available even from quality food outlets.

All good.. now just have to re-jig my budget a bit to make sure I can order one soon without stretching things too far.  The machine itself was very impressive; it looked high quality and extremely well-made.  Having read in various places about how noisy it can be, esp when mixing hard things like ice, it didn't make nearly as much noise as I'd thought.  The noise also lasted only a short time, until the hard ingredients had been blended.  A lot of people there already had TMXs, and those I spoke to were using theirs all the time - including one woman who said she'd hated cooking & had not been able to identify basic herbs like parsley before buying hers!

I'm persuaded  :D :D

Glad you made your decision. I think all of us haven't looked back since getting our thermies. Although the quality and repertoire  of our cooking has improved astronomically, like anything in the kitchen there are successes and failures. I know I wasn't overly impressed with the lemon sorbet  at my first demo !  I'm sure you'll never look back when you finally get one though. I have so many appliances that I  sold or gave away after I bought my Thermomix as I never use them anymore.

I love things like risotto, hollandaise and custard but have never tried to cook them myself as they seem too difficult - I'd be likely to muck them up. I quite enjoy cooking but am not very skilled at it, so usually end up making basic things for dinner when I come home from work.  It would be great to have more variety and from what I can see the TMX makes that much easier to achieve.  There are so many happy customers who use it often and are full of praise for what it can do, despite their initial doubts.

Hmmm it seems I've almost persuaded myself.. ;) but need to see it in action first.  Will let you know what I think after the demo!



I've always really enjoyed cooking and felt myself fairly good at it.  Since getting the TMX tho' - over a year ago - my cooking confidence has soared.  I'm now making most of the family's bread, shortcrust pastry is a doddle, puff pastry isn't so difficult either.  I've made mayonnaise, custard, risotto, the list is probably almost endless.  I make our own stock pastes so there's none of the horrible additives in them.  Cakes and biscuits for the children are almost too easy.

There are so many recipes around on this forum that its easy to try new dishes.

I'm glad you enjoyed your demo today.  As everyone else has said - you won't look back.

I hope so too!!  I feel a bit daunted.. had some last minute nerves, wondering if it was really worth the $$$ but I guess I'm about to find out  :D  I'm pretty sure it will be though, hardly anyone has a bad word to say about it.

I know I felt the same when I brought mine, so many $$$ to gather dust if we loose interest. But don't panic about that. Just remember to always leave your TM on the bench and don't be scared to use it. I definitely don't regret buying mine as everyone else on the forum will tell you. To me my TM is worth tens of thousands of dollars. I just wish I had brought one sooner.

if you have any doubts or a spare moment, make something basic like Baking Powder, SR flour, stock, a sauce/jam, coconut/almond/rice milk, or butter (just a couple of suggestions cos I could go on and on)
