My 5 in 1 arrived today!  Now I just need some good recipes.......any suggestions for slow cooker or particularly pressure cooker I have never had one and my mum didn't have one so I'm a novice,

Dublin girl, I bought the WOmens Weekly and Suzanne Gibbs pressure cook books from book depository and they have been great. I've also just used a couple of my tried and tested casserole recipes and just reduced the liquid and they have worked really well. I also made the Vindaloo from the Indian TMX book and cooked in the PC and it was great.

Aldi currently have Slow Cooker and Pressure Cooker books.  $7.99 I think.
 I bought the pressure cooker one as I have never had experience with one before and it has a lot of practical hints and basic cooking times etc.

Great idea Bickie. See how you get on with NewWave re shipping two to London, and let me know.  There's also import duty and VAT to consider also. Import Duty is unavoidable unfortunately...if a package is declared at being worth more than £18, both duty and vat are payable...

Well my 5 in 1 came, really excited now I am frustrated, it has taken me all morning to try and get it to work, couple phone calls to the help line and still the pressure cooker won't work, I have done everything it says the timer just won't start, they are now going to send me another lid as they think it could be that not getting to pressure grrrrr has anyone else had this problem? The only thing letting off steam is me LOL

This probably a stupid question but did you leave it long enough to come to pressure? depending on what you are cooking and how cold the ingredients are it can take up to 15 minutes. If I have something with a lot of cold ingredients and haven't browned in it first to warm the bowl it seems to take forever to come to pressure.

Yeh wonder I had browned the meat first, and it took awhile to get to pressure but the timer was on for 30 minutes, but it just turn off and went onto warm and it hadn't done the 30 minutes. So when I phoned them they said to put 2 cups of water in there and put timer on for 2 minutes and shake the lid just before pressure to see if anything was stuck, well waited and waited finally phoned them to say nothing had happened and they said to release it and see what was happening inside , no water lol. Bone dry, the machine still had the 2 minutes still ready to go.  Hopefully all will be fine with a new lid
