Gosh, I have been making pasta with Marmite for years, although have never tried it in the TMX so will give it a go.  I don't any veg, just some chopped, fried garlic and chillies mived in with it and then sprinkle it with some strong cheese.  Delicious

I made Helene's version tonight for a quick tea after surf club.  It didn't go down as well with the troops though.  They love their veg but I think the mushie flavour was a bit strong for them. Worth a try though and we will definitely keep making the basic version.

Aww, sorry to hear this Chelsea, and thanks so much for giving it a go. So interesting how we all have such differing tastes... that recipe doesn't have quite enough "mushy flavour" for me... but your troops found it to be too much. I guess that's why this forum is so important, cuz it gives us a place to share notes and experiences, to learn and try, and tweak for our own families. Thanks again for trying it out Chelsea

Maybe next time, you could add a little truffle oil on top of the mushrooms. NOT! JUST KIDDING

As muchbaseveryone is saying this is good im not sure it would go down too well here ... Anti vegemite house here.. Im the only one who touches it and its not that often and every local who i have got to try it hates it... Great laugh though!!

Well I am definitely going to give this a go. Pre umami paste I put marmite in loads of things.
Will have to be marmite though as DH is a Kiwi and that's what he grew up on and won't think of
having vegemite.
