Lol. I'm booked for 1pm in Adelaide too- and booked a ticket for my cousin as well. It will be fabulous to meet all the forum members (I stalk, read and cook more than I post :-) )

JD, I was thinking of you this morning, or more accurately thinking of the line in your posts " a ccok with gadgets ..." as I was making Chookie's hot cross rolls with my TMX, silpat baking mat, pastry cutter etc...how true that saying is......

Chookie's, the hot cross buns were yummy. I followed your suggestion of 15mins at 200ff and then possibly 5 mins. It was still a bit burnt but I am now starting to think that it might be my oven.  In our recently bought house the Miele oven is one size smaller than than the Miele oven I had previously. This could possibly explain why the golden syrup cake also rose and had deep cracks it it (Maybe).

Courton, perhaps you should buy a cheap oven thermometer to put inside your new oven, so that you will k ow what the actual temperature is. I have lots of problems with my oven. I keep a thermometer in it all the time. Last week I was doing a lot of cooking for a party, set my oven for 160C, looked inside and discovered it was actually 210C. So frustrating!
