I am definately going to give this a try. Will probably make it in a large pudding bowl.

Everyone loved it.

I made it in this large fancy loaf pan - so the finished item looks like a braid. 

I put the lasagna noodles in alternating diagonal strips to make it look even more so.

It unmolded perfectly and I was able to slice it into 12 - 3/4 inch thick slices.  The pan is 11 1/2 inches long by 5 1/2 inches wide and it holds a bit more than 13 cups of liquid (such as cake batter).

That pan is a "to die for" one Andie - it's gorgeous!! You do have a knack for finding really unusual and beautiful things! :D :D :D

I've had it for several years.  It was made by Chicago Metallic but they no longer make it.

There is a new one that looks like a real braided loaf made by Kaiser Bakeware but it's not as deep as the one I have.  I haven't got one yet...
