Sweet Plaited Round Loaf.
« on: February 26, 2012, 03:49:43 am »
I must say that this was really very easy and great fun.
Recipe..here.
After first rise,  rolled 'sausages' in oil and then cinnamon sugar.
Then plaited., on baking tray.
Rise to nearly double
Bake 30 mins,200 C, turning 1/2 way through, lower temp to 160 C and cover if browning too much. Bake another 20 mins.
Remove from oven and cover with cloth ,  to soften crust.

This will feed about 10/15 people.  Could make 1/2 recipe or 2 and freeze one.

This a hybrid,  between a Hot Cross Bun and a cinnamon scroll.

No Judy.  DD took it to take to work tomorrow.  It is going to be eaten as a pull apart.  I have to admit to sampling a small bit off the side.  There are 17 at her work,  and we think they will all get a piece.  I am VERY glad that she took it as it looked good. Next time i will make 2 smaller ones,  this one is massive.

What could be better than a hot cross bun and a cinnamon scroll mixed together? Thanks Chookie.

Yummm  Chookie,
Looks like a fruity Monkey Bread.
I am going to try it today.

It is soo easy.  I made it in my TC.
Warmed the milk and egg and then spooned the dry ingredients in through the hole in the lid while on the Knead setting.
I made it in two loaf tins and great size.  One for now and one to freeze.
No problems at all with it and it is beautiful.
Sorry the pic is not a nicely sliced loaf.
DH took it out of the oven and ripped of a big chunk...
And went back for seconds.  I doubt the 2nd loaf will see the freezer.

I don't know how I managed to miss this earlier in the week - it looks so tempting, I don't know how you have managed to resist it Chookie!
