I thought the video showed the Bellini off rather well - can see that it will sell as it is within the price range of a lot more people than the Thermomix. OK, ours will most certainly last longer and probably be able to work harder but these copycats are going to keep appearing on the market and there doesn't appear any way of stopping them - patents run out on everything eventually and these people are just waiting for the opportunity to pounce. Maybe Vorwerk need to reduce the price of the Thermomix to keep it leader in the field.

Judy, I've just watched it too and thought the same. Incredible how most of it looks identical to our TM, even down to the indentations on the bowl.
I sure would love to try one to see the differences. If I had room I would buy one as I could see it being handy especially if it can cook at a higher temp.
Didn't hear scales mentioned anywhere, but I tend to use my digital ones a lot of the time anyway so that wouldn't be an issue for me.
Will watch with interest if anyone does and their impressions.

I have just watched the youtube clip. I must say if I wanted a TM and couldnt afford $1939, from seeing the clip and maybe attending a TM demo I would snap it up. You can buy about 6 of these for one TM. You log on here and hey presto you have all the recipes. The likeness of the bowl, blades & butterfly blew me away.
As a back up I must admit I think t woukd be ok.

I'm planning to duck into Target to have a quick look at it tomorrow....wouldn't dare bring it home...my husband would divorce me! It will be very interesting to see what effect this has on the Thermomix market. As I've posted on Whirlpool, I'm actually finding that I tend to pick up my Thermochef jug before I pick up my Thermomix jug because I prefer the design of it (It makes less mess!). The only times that I would choose to use the Thermomix over the Themochef is when I am making a heavy dough (and I actually prefer my Kenwood...no mucking around with blades) or when it is a small amount of liquid which the Thermochef cannot cope with. The two machines are extremely interchangeable in the way that they perform.
I would love to have a look at the design of the jug (I wonder if I could pull a box apart
). The jug in the video looks more like the Thermomix than the Thermochef.....it would be interesting to see if the blades sit lower in the jug. The Thermochef blades sit higher than the Thermomix, which makes it easier to clean, but I think is the reason it doesn't cope with small amounts as well.
Surely these "imitations" will drive Thermomix to revise their prices. I'm about to head to Germany for business and will be staying in Munich and am hoping that I might get to Landshut (about 60k away I believe) so that I can buy a second jug for my Thermomix from the Vorwerk shop there. I would love to be able to walk into a shop here and just pick up what I needed...and save myself about $100.

Omg it is so similar to the TM. Unbelievable. Must admit they look to be good especially for the price.

There is one thing I see that I like and that is the butterfly reminder on the speed dial! Now that could be something that perhaps Vorwek could look at

Looks like you've been to a shop that already has it on display Gretchen
Yes we all know it is crap but it is the price that will sell it and I'm sure they will have instore demos which will encourage people to buy one there and then without giving it much thought. Give me the Rolls Royce model any day but I'm sure this will sell all the same.
