I can see the difference Gert, the new iPad certainly has more detail.
I have the first generation iPad and it does not have a camera at all and is only 16 GB. Would love a 64GB iPad 3. (one day)

My first iPad - generation 1 - was 16gb. That was a BIG mistake. Second and third generation I bought 64gb and trust me I'm a power user.... I need them!  Definitely go for the most GB. I also love having the option of being able to travel overseas and just pop a card in and have instant Internet no matter where you are.  I do love my pad :)

Ah, so now we know where you spend most of the day Gert - floating around in the pool with your kindle or iPad and a drink not too far away.  What a life. I could only see the difference in the photos when I came to add a reply - they are on different pages in the thread but are under each other when you come to reply.  It was like being in the optometrists chair - 'which one is clearer, No. 1 or No. 2' - :-))  Yours was easier to pick than the dots up on the wall  :P

Montrichard is where we stayed last time and we are hoping to do the same again.  We generally just hang out at McDonald's when we want to check emails etc in France but it would be nice to have Internet whenever wherever especially whilst lying around in bed in the mornings ;). Then w go down to St Remy. Used to stay Plan d'Orgon near Cavaillon but recently St Remy

It is a bit difficult to see the better pic on this space but it was a very dull dark day and the one taken with the iPad2 made everything look too bright and green. Notice the pavers are more detailed  with the new one.  Next time I take a pic of some food I will see if I can tell the difference and post. See if I can get the same shot with both.

It's amazing Gretchen. We checked them out this morning.

Also Gert, I guess it would depend what we are viewing your pictures with. For me with the iPad 1 I could see that your iPad 3 picture had more detail than the iPad 2. But other than that they looked pretty much the same. Would need an iPad 3 to really appreciate the difference.

Since I only got my iPad 2 in January, I won't be moving to iPad 3 for a while. I wish I'd known then that a new one was in the offing. Should have got the 2 a lot cheaper since it was being superseded.
I don't use the camera on my iPad anyway, so that's not important to me. What I'd really like is a USB port!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
