What Pizza Maker to Buy
« on: April 12, 2012, 04:29:59 am »
Hi,
Were just thinking about buying a pizza maker, does anyone own one and which brand is best. Have looked at the The Pizza Maker Just pizza red one as they have it out for $129 inc postage. Does anyone own one of these and if so are they good. Would make own base but just thought it would be handy to have the cooker.
Thanks :)

I do mine in the oven on a stone, perfect. Also if you have a hooded bbq they do good pizzas too.

I'm the same as Hally, I do mine in the oven on a stone. I have no room for a pizza cooker (but would love one)
Although the oven and pizza stone does a great job. To feed all us I make 4 large pizzas. I can cook 2 in the oven and 2 in the convection microwave at the same time so they are all ready at once.

i've got one of those electric pizza ovens and recommend it as they are fantastic - only takes 5 mins to cook. saw a friend do a pizza on a stone in the bbq (with a lid) and it was wonderful as well. For me, normal ovens are too slow - but if you only ever make it once in a blue moon, why not.

I have the Just Pizza Red and it is fantastic and really quick.
I received mine as a bonus when I bought the TC.
If I was to select one tho I would get the Pizza cooker that is deeper and has a replacement stone I think to make it a bit more useful.

Thanks for all of the replies. Very helpful, my oven doesn't work that well and seems to burn so that's why I'm opting for the pizza oven. I have looked on some reviews and it sounds like the Just pizza black would be a good option as you can remove the stone and cook things other than pizza in them. I think it is about an extra $30 for the black one instead of the red one.

I think it was in our daily paper I read this week a chef who cooks his pizzas, one at a time, on the floor of the oven on baking paper.
When you think about it, it would be just like a hot stone.

I don't understand the pizza maker idea over oven, I always seem to get really good results with the oven, but it takes I'd say 20-25 minutes to cook a pizza, how long do the pizza ovens take on a large pizza?  ;D

Yep 20 to 25 in my oven and Convection microwave. But 4 pizzas cooked at once. I think the pizza ovens cook a lot quicker for one pizza. They do look pretty cool but are quiet big from what I have seen. A great idea though.

I have the red pizza maker, I thought the stones were good untill I got it, it cooks the base so well, same as TM if it broke tomorrow I would buy another one, we have alot of topping and it takes 6 - 7 minutes to cook. Have made up to six in a row and you can cook them pretty must as fast as they can eat them.

Deeau they do sound good. But I'm not listening (covering ears). No room for one anyway.
Although if I cleaned out the cupboards?

NO I'm not listening. ;D

I have the black one and it is brilliant! I have replaced the stone once as it did crack, but mine is about 7 years old.
