Rich Chocolate and Crio Bru Brownies - For Food's Sake
« on: April 14, 2012, 01:10:23 pm »
I made these in my Thermo Chef. These were so nice that I almost ate the whole batch by myself over the course of a week. They stayed fresh and moist all week. I liked the way that the pecans were chopped in the 4 seconds of mixing and were evenly distributed throughout the brownie.
I wasn't sure about putting ganache on the brownie, as I usually don't ice brownies at all. I decided to follow the recipe and made the ganache too. My block of chocolate was only 200g, so I reduced the liquid proportionately, and it was more than enough to cover the brownie.  This made them really decadent, and I would probably ice them next time too.

Thanks for the review ES - you must have hid them so that you didn't have to share them with anyone else  ;)

No, they were in plain sight in a clear plastic container on the kitchen counter all week. I promise!
I was really surprised that they lasted so long - I couldn't put them in the kids lunch boxes as they contained nuts, but I could put them in my lunchbox and take them to work. Hee Hee  ;D

Tenia,
I sometimes make notes as I cook, but unfortunately I didn't when I made these.  From memory, the only change I made was dropping the speed to 5 when I added the flour and eggs , and I may have dropped the speed to 4 when I added the pecans.
I generally drop the speed by one level when I  am using Thermomix recipes, except for levels 1 and 2 which I don't adjust. Apart from bread recipes, everything I've made so far has worked really well with very few changes.  I use my Thermo Chef almost everyday, have have tried lots of recipes from this forum or adapted my existing recipes. Having said that though, I tend to use my pressure cooker for red meat dishes as it's quieter ( we have an open plan kitchen family room), it's faster and the texture of the meat is better. I'm intending to make your Crio Bru Beef Chili in my pressure cooker, as it was so delicious at your demo.
Hope this helps,

Sue

Thanks Sue, really helpful…Looking to do a sheet for ThermoChef owners that gives conversion advice for my book…so anything else you can tell me would be awesome!

Glad you are having fun with your ThermoChef!
