Hi All,
I am very new to thermomix, had mine for one full day now and just love it!

If I had known what a difference it could make to my life I would have bought one long before now.

I have two children and a husband with food intolerance's - dairy, wheat and we eat additive free as well as doing the FAILSAFE elimination diet. My son also has an egg allergy which he has never had an anaphylactic reaction to and is growing out of. Because of all these things I was spending so long in the kitchen and it was becoming a real chore, so I am thankful to have found out about the thermomix and can really see the change it will make in my life if I make full use of it.

I believe food should be prepared with a happy and positive attitude so am really pleased to be enjoying cooking again, and to be able to get things done at the same time.

So far on my own I have made some cupcakes with icing, rice pudding and a soup, tomorrow I have a risotto planned for dinner and am looking forward to porridge in the morning.

I have a traditional mincer but as that is so time consuming I am looking forward to mincing in the TM and making some sausages.

I am looking forward to trying out your recipes, and hopefully sharing some of my own.

Welcome rhogue,
Wow - you won't know yourself with the Thermomix!!  Congratulations.   ;D ;) This is a fantastic forum and everyone is so friendly and helpful!  Hopefully when you have it all sorted and are converting your recipes you might be able to post them here... I'm newly dairy free  :'( :'( and look forward to some alternative recipes  :D

P.S. A word of warning - this place is very addictive!!!!  I think it's the friendly TM buddies....  watch out!   ;) :D

Hi rhogue, a warm welcome to our forum.  You will just love it here and learn so much.  Us with no allergies have life so much easier than you Mums that have to cater for all sorts of problems but there is so much information out there today and the TMX will enable you to make so many things from scratch, thus eliminating preservatives etc.  Enjoy!

Congratulations Rhogue on the best ever investment! Especially with all the food intolerances that you have to cope with, you will really enjoy making wonderful yummy meals for the family. One word of advice from me, as my THX consultant told me 4 months ago..... Don't NOT make a recipe because you don't have all the ingredients, improvise and adapt. The worst scenario will end up a soup or an ice-cream!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Rhogue.

I loved your sentence "I believe food should be prepared with a happy and positive attitude". It is so true. I see so many people getting stressed and worked up about the thought of cooking. This is a shame. Cooking is like an art and should be a time for happiness and gratefulness.

When I cook, it is a time to forget about everyday worries. And my family love seeing me cook. My young boys get so excited when dinner is served.

Thanks for that "such true" comment.

Hello Rhogue,

You are so right about one's attitude towards cooking, and the demands on you are hugely more than those on me.  My problem was boredom with cooking and I got away with it as I have a very tolerant partner!  However I did feel guilty as he is very supportive and contibutory on the domestic front so the fact that I do all the cooking was not something I could resent - he does almost all the shopping.  We are retired!

I don't need to say that I hope you will continue to enjoy your TM31 because I know you will and that I will (have had mine only 6 weeks)  I do wish these had been around for preparing food for my children when they were babies - too late now they are 49 and 46.  Maybe my great grandchildren will benefit?

I found out about Tmx about 18 months ago in an newsletter from Cyndi O'Meara. I was very low at the time, certainly fed up with cooking after preparing meals for 30 years for my 5 children and knew it was what I needed.

It took about 6 months to finally get to a demonstration with one of my daughters-in-law in tow. I was so impressed I ordered one on the spot and secretly ordered one for my daughter-in-law too so I would have a thermo-buddy (certainly a rash decision financially at the time but in the end well worth the struggle). Also I could see the benefits for any future grandchildren. We had the delivery at DIL's the day before Mother's Day last year and at the end, the demonstrator brought one in for DIL. She was absolutely speechless and has certainly done wonders with it since. She told me she now has to dust her stove!

Well, one year down the track, I am still loving it and have just invested in one for my (unfortunately somewhat estranged) daughter who is living in England with 2 young daughters. Hopefully she will get as much joy out of it as I have. Snf hopefully she will join the forum too!! The trouble is, with 5 chlildren I still have 3 more to buy!!! But with only 1 child left at home now this is something that I am determined to afford.

Oh wow - I am so happy to read your post - we are failsafe and dairy-free too!

I have created a blog documenting my recipe modifications to use the Thermomix for failsafe cooking. We've only had our TM for a week and a half so there are lots of recipes still to try.

I'd love to hear your ideas too.

Best to chill the meat cut into chunks in the freezer a bit before chopping to achieve a better result - and short bursts with the turbo to avoid puree.  ;D ;D ;D
