The responses to the article in the comments section are as interesting as the writer's list!

this was an interesting read cecelia. What I don't understand is why people who don't want to buy a TMX keep defending their decision for example, writing long lists of things it can't do. If you've decided you don't need a TMX stand by your decision!

There are mavens and then there are those who think they are mavens.

The Thermomix can't tap dance either.

Actually, mine does tap dance,LOl, it also jumps around the bench a bit too ;D

The bread made me laugh, one item to save money, yes but lots of other items too, so you can see how quickly you can recoup your money :)

Too funny Hally. I forgot about that.  Well let me think what else the Thermomix can't do.......the Thermomix can't  cook a whole turkey but it can cook a whole squab and nicely too.

Ooooo jealousy is a curse eh?

My TM can't vacuum or do the dishes, or clean windows (except when I forget to put the MC on and it splatters up the window and I have to clean it)

Drr. Bit of a dumb review.Unless it was meant to be. I would definitely have made almost 705 loaves of bread and numerous rolls, scrolls etc so I'm deemed to have paid mine off. When I buy bread I buy fairly expensive stuff so I have more than paid it off.
I don't need to mention the savings in jam etc. Anyway I didn't buy Termite to save money, it was to have more fun cooking.

There are alot of things thermie can't do but I would never in a million years regret the decision to buy her. She is helping us eat healthier, less processed food and that in turn is saving us money with doctors, dentists etc.
Also as the old saying goes "time is money" and saving time in the kitchen means I am saving money  8)

No..  It can't do other household chores.    :( But the time and frustration it saves in the kitchen means the other chores are not so tedius either as they can be more relaxed.   ;D
And it saves a lot of dishwashing in this house..   :-*

Well, it cost only a bit more than my dishwasher and all that does is wash dishes. Shall I put up a review listing everything that my dishwasher doesn't do?  ;D
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

I am so embarrassed that I shared this blog article now!!

But I thought it might be of interest to some people, and certainly the positive replies that everyone has offered have made the objections listed in the article seem trivial.

I compare the decision to purchase a Thermomix to the decision to purchase a new TV - TMX is less money and a lot more important to our healthy lives, so why miss out?

That's easy for us to say, if we already have one and already know the benefits.

I considered deleting the thread, but let me leave it here for a few days and in the meantime, JD and cookie1, if you wish to edit this off, by all means do so.

:)  Thanks for reading and responding, all those who did.  :)

Lol found the review a bit ridiculous.. Now they are stretching as to what thermie cant do.. Like b**ching that your vacume cleaner cant cook lmao.. Of course it cant its a vacume cleaner... Talk about ridiculous..

What i find annoying is that these people critisize thermie owners as a whole list of unpleasant things because they for whatever reason dont want one.. Why dont these people just live with their decisions and stop making reasons to b**ch because seriously who cares.. You have one or not.. Each to their own but i dont regret the pricevtag one bit or what it can do which is a sight more than any other machine on the market to date that actually does the job it claims to do and doesnt end up konking out or doing a half ar&@$ed job.. Credit where credit is due and all that!!

Cecilia why?

I wouldnt be embarrassed just everyone has their opinion..and the great thing about this forum is that we dont live in a bubble.. We accept and review in our own way many different things but its also free speech to say and think what you will within respect for others ..just sometimes like this article people go to the point of ridiculous...every appliance has its limits.. Sometimes i wonder about people...
