With so many newbies everyday, it prompted me to ask how everyone first heard about the thermomix....and you don't have to be new to answer.

I had never heard of it back in Oct 2008 Tasty until my DD invited me to a demo at her house. She told me I would love it and use it a lot so I went along, quite prepared to buy this machine on the night even though I had no idea what it was. The rest is history and my life has changed in many ways because of it.

Nazar, lucky you didn't act then or you wouldn't have had the new model.

I first heard about it through looking at Spanish websites in 2009 looking for Spanish recipes cooked conventionally and kept coming across this 'thing' called a Thermomix. I eventually found out that they were available in the UK and went to a demo last June (they are very scarce here and I believe they are no longer done in our area of the UK), took DH along in the hope that he could be persuaded and he eventually gave in last October

First heard of it 2010 when my sisters friend brought one. I thought she was crazy to buy such an expensive gadget.
I was invited to a few demos but never went because I knew (yeh right
) I would never buy one.
Then my sister brought one and that was it, I saw first hand what they could do and how easy they could do it. And in less that a month I ordered my own TM and have never looked back.

2 yrs ago I was invited to a demo at a work friends house, and thought nice one, don't have to cook tonight and might get a glass of wine. Had never heard of TMX and she showed a link in the email and was open about the price and I knew this was not something I would ever buy because we're on lower incomes. But seeing that raw sugar turn to powdered at the demo really got in my head. Not long after I was wanting to improve my health and kept coming across recipes relying on high powered blenders. My $40 mini blender eventually and I asked my friend how she likes her machine 1 year on. Needless to say she was still happy with her purchase so I went ahead and not regretted it.

I heard about thermomix 18months ago. My cousin had one. She has always been a fabulous cook and when I saw hers in action I came home and started looking it up on the net and lurking on this forum. November last year I took the plunge and made the purchase.

I was searching for additive free cooking and came across TMX website. Made enquiries, had demo and bought it straight away. One decision I will never regret.

I saw a review on Thermomix on the taste website.
That was September 2009, I rang HO, found a consultant and ordered one sight unseen. i had it about 10 days later, and a demo 4 days after that.
That consultant doesn't sell anymore, so now i have Jo.

I first head about Thermies in mid 2009 when a few ladies were raving about them on a cloth nappy forum I was a member of. Others kept talking about how jealous they were, so I thought I'd better check it out. And so the saving began, and we bought ours in mid 2010. It was just starting to really take off here in Southern Tassie at that time. In fact, my mum also bought one about 4 months after we did, and my sister was considering buying on at AGFEST here in Tassie yesterday. Must ring and see if she did.

My sister bought one more than three years ago but did not invite me to her demos as she had too many work friends wanting to go and needed to keep numbers low. It's one of those "Why wasn't I told?" situations. TMX did not come onto my radar for another two years. I did attend the demos of two different friends and it was the enthusiasm of one friend in particular that convinced me.

I was invited to a cooking demo at my SIL never heard of TMX was really impressed but was told I had everything I didn't need it. Three demos later, I didn't care if I didn't need it I WANTED IT . Love it.

I had never heard of the TMX and was invited by a friend to her demo about 2 1/2 years ago but it was at short notice and on a Sunday (and I am always out of town at the weekends), so turned her down. However, in the interim I had a look around on the internet and thought it sounded quite interesting, rang my friend and said if she was having another demo to keep me in mind. At about this time, my old food processor finally died and I was looking for a replacement then my friend rang again to say that there was another demo coming up so off I went and I was 'sold'. There was a back to basics demo about 2 weeks later so dragged DH along and that was it ... TMX ordered and I was a very happy chappy!

I read about Thermomix in a cookbook "The New Spanish Table" - the author raved about what it could do but mentioned they were very expensive. I researched a lot and then had a demo - bought it then (about 2 years ago now). Wish I'd had it earlier!
