Not an indictment at all Dashingden. - actually a very clever way to keep in touch with a lot of people who have similar interests without having the problem of set meeting times or long travel. I've never been keen on forums before this one but the foodie/Thermomix talk and generosity of spirit shown by forum members has me hooked.  There are over 6000 members but just a fraction regularly post. Hope the others get what they need from the forum regardless!

Maybe the moderators could send out a friendly we miss you call to the members?

This is the only forum I am on. Its a great way to chat to people who understand the need to cook food & cook it well.

My friends think I am crazy spending so mch time in the kitchen, its what I enjoy, its a hobby and a lot cheaper than some hobbies. We get to eat great food & I get lots of help when needed, a huge BONUS have met and will meet some lovely caring people. :)

Maybe Dashingden is too much competition for the men  ;D

DG it is more likely because all I do is work, train and occasionally race. It doesn't help that I am very calorie conscious and don't waste many calories on alcohol.

I competed in the Busselton Ironman70.3 Triathlon on the weekend. Now I am 'resting' before I begin training for the CIiy to Surf Marathon.

I suspect there are many lurkers to this forum, both female and male out there. I'm sure many of the men registered on this forum are as obsessive as we are about cooking and food in general but obviously don't feel the need necessarily to contribute posts to forums.

I lurk quite a bit and post occasionally - I am a female but live in a mans world - sometimes I struggle to find content amongst small talk - no offence intended - but men do not do small talk and I think they are put off by the enormous amounts of small talk. Men like instant gratification - don't we girls all know that? They go to a forum for info not small talk. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for noticing Cecilia  :)

I post a little bit, I don't actually have a TMX as yet, but will be getting one around mid-July when I train to be a consultant.

I tend to lurk and read unless I have something to contribute.

Nothing wrong with lurking but no harm in contributing posts either- this is such a friendly and informative forum , any contribution  is gratefully accepted. I would suggest that if someone has registered for a forum it implies that they should at least contribute some posts, otherwise if someone just needs recipes etc, you can surf the net for those.

Has anyone else noticed that we seem to have lost (nearly) all of our male contributors recently (I initially put the word 'members' in there instead of contributors but thought that was a bit provocative!)?

Do you remember Leesmac78 and his partner, Ed?

I noticed Ed was browsing this afternoon so I quickly sent him a pm and asked if they were OK.  He replied that work for both of them has been really busy but they are both well.

Good to hear that Ed and Lee are well, Judy, and great work on all your training, Dashingden.

I've been missing the blokes too, but can't complain when I'm lurking more than posting myself these days (reports, ugghh!).

Welcome to the forum Frans, there are plenty of members out there who visit the forum regularly buy don't post. But it is nice to say hello and introduce your self. I like the sound of your BBQ, I'm guessing you use that quiet a bit.
