Puréed sweet potato, carrots, potatoes are great. I also do apple sauce for my niece as well as the EDC custard. Also, the TM is great for steaming chicken breast or tenderloins and then shredding them very finely afterwards and adding in the mashed potatoes. I also add in mushed up peas that I have overcooked in the microwave first and mashed. There are so many possibilities in the TM! I have also done a version of the EDC tomato soup with red lentils and adding in potato and carrot.

Also check out Annabel Karmels website for inspiration.  She has some great ideas for purees etc which I know would be easily adapted to the TMX.  Some strange combinations that actually work.  I swear by her for healthy nutritious meal ideas.

I'm interested in this topic too however I do find that my little 8 month old girl seems happy to have most of our food, even if it's a bit spicy.

Thanks for the Annabel Karmel reference...haven't heard of her.

She is amazing.  My two boys were both weaned using her recipes and they are fantastic eaters (obviously they have their moments but I'm constantly praised for how good they are to try new things and eat healthily). They both loved the chicken, apple and sweet potato puree.

I love porridge cooked with a banana in the TMX for my boys.  I use it mainly for breakfast as my two are older but it would be a great lunch snack for a baby.  Keeps them very full for a long time.

Custard with only a small or no sugar.

Nay nays scones

And if bubs is eating sandwiches try the bacon and cheese scrolls but maybe vegemite and cheese modification?

When summer comes around sorbets and banana ice cream are favorites for dessert around here

Do you want puree or finger food ideas?  For finger food my boys like meatballs (just beef and sweet potato) veggie pancakes (normal savoury pancakes packed with veggies) and veggie slice (pretty much just veggies, eggs and a bit of flour).  Also pasta dipped in veggie puree, pumpkin is their favourite, I just make TM pumpkin soup with extra pumpkin and red lentils which makes it nice and thick and then water it down to soup consistency for the adults/older kids.  Also raw (or lightly cooked) grated veggies and cheese folded into mountain bread, toasted and cut into manageable strips (the cheese holds it all together).

I'm about to start BLW (baby led weaning - mostly fingerfoods and no purees) with my six month old and have found the baby led weaning cookbook by Gil Rapely ful of inspiration for finger foods, I just downloaded it from Amazon.

Have also just made these - turned out good but will add more cous cous next time

Thanks for the Annabel Karmel reference, will check it out.

I did BLW with both my kids - it's messy but fantastic! My kids are now 5 and 6 and are awesome eaters.

I did BLW with my second and I wish I'd done it with my first!  My first was not keen on the pureed stuff and I could have saved myself a lot of stress and worry (and mess!) if I'd just gone with BLW.

Not necessarily helpful with TMX (didn't have it then), but I did a lot of roasted vegetable fingers/wedges.  Could steam then in the varoma though.
