Just made the healthy 'roast' chicken.  Firstly using the lemon zest in a paste with the parsley as a rub makes the kitchen smell wonderful. As I have lots of herbs growing at the moment I used all of the ones stated  in the recipe and the final result was brilliant. I love a good roast chook as much as the next person  but to cook chicken this way, the meat was moist and well flavored. My kids loved it  as well, even without the skin on. Great all in one meal to add to the repertoire. I give it a 5/5 - additionally, it feels a lot healthier to eat and less guilty than a roast chicken ( lets face it, I'm a roast chook skin addict but I am changing my ways!)

Great to read your review, Merlin.  I haven't tasted this dish, but I've watched Fiona cook it at a masterclass, and can absolutely agree with you about the lovely smell.  If you happened to take a photo, you might like to add it to the "From the kitchen of ..." album on the Devil of a Cookbook Facebook page.

You can make links to my recipes if you like JD.  The one-pot rice and beef is my swiss beef from the forum and my easy apple teacake is the one from here also. :)

Sorry all- my kids were so hungry tonight for dinner I didn't take a photo but to have all the vegies and stock as well at the end was great. I also agree that the book looks really good  and I have already bookmarked many of the recipes to make in the next few weeks.

I'm just about to make the sponge cake, and I thought there was a review? Oh well, I'll make one soon.

Not going to do a review, I didn't check the oven temp beforehand and it was too high and was starting to burn. I separated mix into 2 cake tins and they did not rise at all. Not fair to review it if I stuffed something up, so possibly will try again another time. REally disappointed with myself.

CP, I also thought I had read something about that sponge cake and eventually found this slight reference here by Kylie on the 16th May.

"The pictures of Tassie are nice. I wish there were more pics of the recipes in the book though! (yes yes apparently I am a food porn addict!).

There are lots of recipes in here that I intend to try. We made the 'light as air' sponge cake last night - gluten free as per the recipe for those who are interested - and it's really good. Must write a shopping list today for everything else we want to make on the weekend!"

Is this worth trying to get overseas? I have ordered other books (FFS and in the mix) and it is expensive to get them so don't want to order it if only so so. Hate to give more money to Australian post than the poor little Tasmanian devils!
