The only thing that ever bothers me is when the talented clever women on this site thank their  'DH's or marvel at their kindness  >:( for 'allowing' them to get a thermomix/second bowl/recipe book. Come on girls - the 50's are a long time ago!

My hubby still to this day, has no idea how much it cost......I find those details not important to disclose  :P LOL!
.........EAT CAKE!

Oh dear now we have hijacked MM's thread. Poor MM'. Such a tolerant male.

Uni, there's no way on earth you are going to get that 5-in-1 cooker if you are waiting for Frank to come up with the idea unless you have made him aware of the fact that you would like one and you have a birthday or anniversary coming up.  Good luck, you deserve any appliance you can get your hands on seeing as you seem to spend your life in the kitchen  :-*

Once you are financial secure and the kids have grown up, I think go for it, have anything and everything you want but when starting out and having young children, priorities are very important so I understand buying something as expensive as a TMX has to be considered carefully by both parties.  I remember when we were young, had 2 mortgages and lived on such a tight budget. Whenever we did seem to be getting a little saved for a rainy day, exH would want a new guitar or amp and I could never get him to see there was nothing wrong with what he had.  It was all about him and his needs.  I ended up going back to work to get the things I wanted which suited him right down to the ground as he benefitted even more - stupid me.

Not at all stupid JD.  Just part of life and a useful learning experience. Makes us what we are today.

JD makes you a stronger person today :)

Uni, just tell him what a bargain it is, how much time you will save with the 5 in 1.

Or buy it, and tell him it was in the cupboard for ages. ;D

Uni if you want it,can afford it,  just  buy it. Say nothing. Life is short. No point in waiting until summer when you won't want it and you will need lots of soup and soft food when you have your teeth done.

DH and I discuss everything. I ask for things out of courteousy as it is his money also that I am spending.
As we run a business, I am not always aware of the expenses coming up. Most times DH will say "If you need it Get it". Other times he says "Can it wait til next month?".
I usually get what I want, but sometimes have to wait til all the bills are paid first.
Exercise is a dirty word... Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate

My DH leaves all the money handling up to me. I pay all the bills, and do the groceries, kids clothes, shoes etc. we usually don't have much left over for extras but at least the bills are paid and there is food in the cupboard and the house is warm :)

I do all the money handling as well, for us and our business.

DH asks me, not me asking him.
