Gretchen and others up that way, Jo further down and everyone. Please take care of yourselves. I'm thinking of you. :-* :-* :-*
-
Stay safe all of you.
-
How much more can you take up there - thinking of you and hoping you are all going to be safe.
-
Hope everyone has managed to secure everything and left if necessary. Hope it's not as bad as expected. Stay safe everyone.
-
OMGoodness it is a MONSTER!!! Thinking of you all!! :-\ :-* :-*
-
If the good hopes and wishes of the forum members could keep you and yours all safe, you would have nothing to worry about. I hope that it works out that way.
-
Thanks so much guys. I'm about 1 1/2 hrs drive west of Gretchen, up in the mountains - we won't get the flooding that Cairns will get (hope you're not near the beach, Gretchen!) - they're evacuating the coastline, including the Cairns hospitals... It's really looking like we're going to cop it this time - pretty scary! Been working hard to tie everything down and clear up all the outside area, now I'm cooking so we'll have bread, etc, once the power goes off! Pretty sure it will - cyclone Larry (6 yrs ago) was smaller, but we had no power for 2 weeks. :( Wish I had a generator so I could keep using my Thermie!!!
-
I'm thinking of you all too. It is just terrible to be going through this. Especially after all that has happened in Qld so recently.
-
Keep safe everyone who will be affected by the cyclone.I will be thinking of you all and get back here as soon as possible, so we know you are OK. :)
-
Fingers crossed that the cyclone either turns away or weakens. Stay as safe as possible. :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
OMG, I'm thinking of you all too and hoping you are going be safe :-* :-*

Thinking of you all in FNQ.
-
Thinking of you all in FNQ ....... stay safe

:) Jo, I am about to start cooking too.
we are all tied down, ready for the cyclone. About to make bread, and cakes.
Thanks everyone.
Robyn
-
Stay safe everyone :( It's terrifying!!
-
Hope you go okay Robyn - don't know how we'll go having your demo this weekend... might have to postpone it, do you think? :(
Take care.
-
Trying to stay calm myself. My family is spread between Gordonvale, the Northern Beaches and Kuranda. So far, none of them have chosen to leave home. Although my father is currently not answering phone calls or texts. :-\
Hope everyone is as prepared as they can be. Stay safe and see you on the other side. xx
-
I'm sure he is just busy preparing Ceejay. Sometimes it is worse being away and worrying. :-* :-*
-
Hope everyone is well prepared and you have plenty of no cooking food ready.
Jo, wow 2 weeks without electricity!!! I just can't imagine it.
-
We're just south of Cairns. Everything is tied down so I distracted our house guests daughter by letting her to cook in the TM. She loved it and now we have some great snacks for later in the day. Not terribly healthy snacks, but who am I to argue on a day like today. Stay safe everyone else in FNQ.
-
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who live in this part of the World. Hopefully most of you have left or in a safe place. Fingers crossed - stay safe.
-
best wishes FNQ, will be thinking of you :-*
-
;D Jo, i think we will have to postpone the demo.
We are fine, all prepared, generator is in place, I am cooking dinner, I have made bread, brownies are in the oven now.
not much else we can do, but wait till it passes.
take care, we will get through yasi.
Robyn

Well, we went fine - still have a roof, kids slept through the worst of it thankfully! The sound of the wind last night was scary - I've been through a few cyclones & this was the scariest! But although it looks a little messy outside it's not bad here. Still rain & high wind. Tully was worst hit, lost roofs, etc. Cairns wasn't hit too bad either, but it still may flood. :)

-
Jo thank you so much for letting us all know you and the family are ok. I don't even know you face to face and I have been concerned for you and the TMX family. Thanks again for letting us know you are ok.
Hope obbie and sue are ok too.
THANK YOU :-* :-* :-*
Poor Tully. We loved our stay there.
-
Good to hear from you too obbie, so far good news. Gretchen, how are you?
-
Thank you all for being concerned for us - you're our 'thermomix family'!! :-* :-* :-*
-
It's a relief to hear from some of our TMX family. So glad things are not too bad for you. I too had a restless night thinking about you all. Hopefully we will here from the rest of our family soon. Gretchen ???
-
Thank goodness you are all ok. ;D ;D
I had little sleep was on the phone to my second Mum in Cairns for a lot of last night before it got to the stage that they needed to bunker down.
The sound of the wind was awful over the phone - I can't imagine what it would have been like at the height of it all :-)) :-))
I kept looking at the maps etc and thinking of everyone hoping you all came through as unscathed as possible. Much love to you all :-* :-*
-
Has anyone heard from Gretchen? Sure hope she fared ok up there. :(
Dad did ring me... eventually. Apparently was still unpacking from moving house. :-)) He said he was going to my Aunt's place a little later to be with his father and sister and her husband.
No reported damage or injury from any family members thankfully. My sister did complain that she missed the cricket due to the power going out though. *sigh*
Just hoping there are not any reported injuries or worse at all in this disaster.
Hoping to get some sleep tonight... I think I managed around an hour in broken bits last night! :-\
-
That is good to hear Ceejay. Yes - I hope I will sleep better tonight too. I had close family living in Homehill, Townsville, Halifax and Cairns - they are all rattled but made it through the night. :-\
Oh Gretchen - hope your lovely home made it through ok. :-* :-*

glad your family and your dad finally contacted you and all are ok..
-
So great to hear all is fine Jo and Obbie - while our family in Tsville and Ayr suffered no structural damage, they have been without power since 8pm last night. Cheers all! :) :)
-
Glad to hear your family is OK Robyn, cannot imagine living without power for so long. DH would go into meltdown.
-
Great to hear that you are both OK Obbie and Robyn.I have been keeping a keen eye on the news over here to how the cyclone unfolded.Have they found the two missing men from Innisfail yet?
-
Someone posted on Gretchen's Facebook page yesterday that they are OK, no further details re property damage but at least we know our dear friend is alright. I passed on the concerns of our forum members so that she will know we are all thinking of her - no power at that stage, don't know if that has changed yet.
-
So glad to hear that Jo and Robyne are fine. Fingers crossed that all's well with Gretchen and any other forum members.
-
:) we lost our power 8pm wednesday nite.
thank God we have 3 generators.
1 for us.
1 for my Mum and dad next door.
the other is on loan to our neighbors.
it was mainly innisfail, tully and mission beach that got the worst hit.
Robyn :)
-
Glad to hear most of you are through the worst of it. I had my face glued to the satellite weather maps for days leading up to the event. The storm looked SO BIG and SO UGLY :o from here. It was frightening to watch and think of precious TMX friends and their families having to endure such a thing, especially at night, without power etc. Sending big hugs to all!!!
But now, to the matter at hand: it is simply too quiet around here with Thermomixer and Gretchen both absent! :o :D ;D :'( It's so quiet, I can hear a pin drop all the way to Canada. My goodness. That Gretchen must still be without power because I can't think of any other reason she would be so quiet... ;) Poor thing. :'( :-* :'( With the power out she must be starving for some chit chat :( and I'll bet we will hear a torrential outburst of friendship :o when she gets back on line. I for one, am "bracing" myself in the hope that she will be boisterously present here again soon!
Gretchen, your fans are waiting...
:-* ;) :-*
-
I would say Gretchen is still with out power. Just got off the phone (again lol) to my "mum". She is just out of Cairns and has now power, no phone etc. Is charging her mobile phone in the car so she can have contact :D :D
-
;D just to update. we still have no phone, but power came on at lunch time today.
i have internet (wireless), but alot don't have internet yet.
Robyn
-
We still have no power, and they say it could be two weeks for us. :( but our phone is working now, although my mobile still won't work at home. I check it when I go into town. I went to a friend's with power today and rechargd everything, including my t touch, so now I can check in quickly now and then - yay! I was going crazy without internet, phone, power, hot showers, etc, and dh working nights so just ne & the kids... help!!! Feeling better now! ;D At least I go to perth in a week - really looking forwad to it!!! Don't know how dh will cope without power & thermomix & me, though! :D
-
He has a big task ahead of him Jo ;) ;)
-
wow jo 2 weeks again wtihout power..and your poor dh too but then poor you too except great that you get to escape for a bit and go to perth..you will be loving that..hope all comes back to normal as soon as possible :)
also glad all seem to be ok and some even have power back...
