Chit Chat / Re: What are you been cooking today

I made lasagne last night with the meat sauce being made in the new TM7 (just got it on Saturday) and the bechamel being made in the TM6 to cut down on time.

I’m making ricotta dumplings tonight.

I only really use the spatula for taking the steaming bowl out. But when we take our thermomix away camping I take it because it does two jobs in one. My favourite ones are the flex core spatulas for everyday use.

I love ricotta dumplings, but I haven’t yet made ricotta gnocchi.

I made the Cookidoo Beef Ragout with Macaroni the other night. I did the meat on the stovetop though. I actually think the recipe becomes a little too bland with the cream, and next time I think I’ll leave it out.

It’s been a very long time since I logged in here. I’m waiting for my TM7. I wanted to order it on Day one, but my consultant wanted a chat first and we didn’t manage to do that for two weeks, so I’m patiently waiting. I’m looking forward to having my TM6 and TM7 together to take advantage of all the different options. I gave my TM5 to my mum and so far, she has been appreciating it, but originally she was saying that I was just dumping it on her. Strangely enough, we made the slow cooked meatballs from Cookidoo in the TM5, and they were fabulous. I went home and made it again in my TM6 and they just weren’t as good. I’m not sure what I did differently, as I’ve always found that recipe was great. Will have to try it again in the 7 when I get it.

What I am really looking forward to in the TM7 is the redesigned Varoma. I want to make ricotta dumplings. I feel like it never makes enough of the dumplings in the TM5/6. That’s probably going to be my first recipe when I have it. It’s coming to my consultant first, then me. I haven’t heard anything yet, but I’m getting impatient.

I’ve made some pizza scrolls and some seriously seedy crackers this morning. I went looking for information about the crackers as I wasn’t entirely happy with them, and found the original recipe in the forums here, with an extra step. Signed in to reply and here I am once again!

I’ve been working as a teacher for the last year and a half in a school near home and I love it. I’m just waiting to hear if I have an interview for an ongoing role there, which I would really love to get.

I’ve noticed this is on the Cookidoo app (not Australia, but remove filters) and it’s pretty much identical except for that last step of drying them out further. I’ve got some that have finished cooking, and I felt they were underdone. The drying out step is probably what will make them work so I’ve turned the oven right down and will keep them in there. Really nice taste (snaffled a bit to try), just waiting for the texture to be more like I wanted.

I had pizza pockets and chicken nuggets that I'd made, same as I put in my daughters' lunch boxes, and quick and easy to eat.

I've been out and about doing ANZAC Day stuff with my children today. I've been working for the last two weeks, and spending time trying to get my head around everything that involves, so I haven't been on here for ages.

I will be starting my role as a teacher on Tuesday. I'm going to be teaching VCAL at a school for kids who were disengaged with school. It's exactly what I hoped to do when I did my graduate diploma of education. I just hope that I'm right about my vocation and give them the support that I always believed I could. I have no idea how to begin, but I look forward to it.

Suggestions and Complaints / Re: THERMOMIX TM21

One reason I've invested in a Thermomix is because I anticipate it will last a long time and be serviceable. I hope you find someone who can help.

I'm really slow at making pasta, I just take too long, and then it starts to stick. I use a plain pasta machine and can do the sheets, but spaghetti never works for me.

Amazing cakes! We've just come back from Echuca Moama, and we're off to see Zootopia today at the movies.
