I am 13 weeks pregnant and have had really bad food aversions and haven't been able to even come on the thermomix website because it was making me sick.  So I am beter and finally come on and it's broken???????  I couldn't figure it out.  The thermie has been a glorified rice cooker for 7 weeks  :-[

Thanks to the powers that be fixing it and now I can cook that spiced chicken recipe I have bookmarked.

I guess for a 2 year old it is all they are going to know and mine definitely won't remember me cooking without it.

DD reads a cookbook for me and tells me all the ingredients......100 gram butter (that's actually about all she says  ;D) She now tells me that it smells nice (and it really didn't because it had fish sauce in it) so I'm thinking that my old cooking must have been pretty bad  :P

 ;D ;D

My husband is the one telling everyone how great thermie is and he was the one that encouraged me to buy it, yet he has barely cooked in it and when he does it has been quite ordinary (and he is actually a good cook  ???)  Maybe it's actually to simple for them?????

I just said to my 2 year old we'll get dinner ready in 10mins, to which she replied "I will go get the food out" and as "helpful" as she is I called her back and asked her what she was doing and she said she was getting to food ready and then asked me "where's the Thermie mum?"  :D :D

Sorry I'm no help, 2year old who eats anything  :)

There is that new cookbook on the tmx website or email which has cooking for the family?? It was only $25 I think.  Can't remember his name....Chef Laurent.  Try http://www.cheflaurent.com.au/chef-laurent-caters-for-families.html.

I actually find my daughter is eating and enjoying tmx food more because the flavours are so much better.

I just made these and had to say they were really fun.  Took us a bit to get the temp of the pan right but once we did no problems.  My 2 yo goes mad when I get the rolling pin out so she promptly joined me in making them. I used bakers flour instead and still were quite delicious.

Thanks Cookie, will give it a go.

Are these cookies the same as the ones in the cakes section or was it changed for the festive cookbook??

I ran out of money at the Christmas demo and couldn't afford this one, even raided the ashtray for coin to get the rest of the books I wanted  ;D ;D

I made this for Christas day and it was perfect, beyond perfect.  But have made it a few times since and haven't quite made it as well.  Husband said after the 2nd attempt that perhaps there was too much stock concentrate in it so lowered it and the third wasn't as good either and I think I increased it back to the oignal amount for the next attempt and it was better again (tip: never listen to husband  ;))

Tips and Tricks / Baby's Bottle Brush
« on: December 16, 2009, 05:49:45 am »
Hi all,

I am not sure if this has been written somewhere, I did a search and couldn't find it  :-\

I have found the best way to clean the blades is with a brush you use to clean baby's bottles with.  One that has a brushy bit for cleaning the teats is perfect., I think they are the Tommee Tippee ones.  If anyone wants a pic I could try and find one on the internet.

Again, sorry if this has already been posted I was just so happy when I found out this cleaed it so wel!!

Delicious!!!!

Have now used chick peas twice in my life.  I added sultanas instead of dates as daughter loves them and it was great.  Didn't have any rice and so made mashed potato/sweet potato and they worked well together.

Thanks will make this again  ;D

Oh no JD, I almost cried too at the thought of that little lip trembling.  It actually sounds a bit like the mafia putting it's mark on someone  :o  But sometimes these lessons are hard learned.

I am listening to what is meant to be a sleeping child sing jingle bells to her teddy.  She did say she'd better have a quick seep so Santa will come. She'd better be good because santa does not want to return the jumping castle to target in the middle of boxing day sales (and I don't think Santa could get it back in the box now either  :-)))

If my boys were naughty  I used to tell them that Santa would take a pressie out of their sack & replace it with a potato. One year they had been arguing a lot just before Christmas so on Christmas morning there were a couple of potatoes in their sacks!! ;) ;) I overheard the younger one say to his brother "I wonder what he took out. Next year I'm not going to be naughty all year!!"

oh this is brilliant.  Daughter is a bit young at the moment but will remember.  Did it work the following year??

Glad to see there are others out there enjoying the same type of night outs.

It was the christmas demo and I had told husband to take some money out so I could buy some cookbooks.  $50 later  :-[  I didn't buy the christmas one because I thought it's fine I will survive without it, and then at the end I wanted it and we didn't have any money left (we had already raided the car's coin stash  :-)))
