Just wondering - i had a recipe which needed to cook for 30mins at Varoma temp - just watching it now and it toOk nearly 10mins to get there ? Is that a really long time or is that right ? Water in the bowl was from the tap.

Condiments and Sauces / Re: My special awesome cheese sauce« on: June 18, 2012, 01:41:40 pm »
Made this tonight for the first time - yum!
Definitely much much better than the EDC version but is it only that this version you add more cheese ? It just seems so much nicer but amazing that one little Tweek makes all the difference ! 5
Soups / Re: Creamy Chicken & Brown Rice Soup (dairy free) with photo« on: June 11, 2012, 11:31:17 pm »
Well I made this soup last night and did it with white rice instead. Other things I did differently was I didnt have celery so just used about the same amount of green capsicum and used the TMX vege stock concentrate.
Still ended up with a beautiful, thick, creamy hearty soup! Really enjoyed it so its got me thinking what it could taste like with the brown rice. Really good !! 5/5 6

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Re: Recipe Review Soft Buttermilk Rolls pg 43 For Food's Sake« on: June 05, 2012, 08:30:19 am »
Made this today - tweeked a touch this way. Didnt realise I didnt have all of the buttermilk when I started making it so in the second part I made one cup of milk with 1 tsp of vinegar to make buttermilk. I also used half Spelt wholemeal flour and half bakers flour.
Still tasted great and soooo soft ! 9
Condiments and Sauces / Sauce for 2 people« on: June 05, 2012, 12:51:11 am »
I am wondering if someone has a sauce recipe for vegetables, a cheese sauce or white sauce, that is for 2 people. I dont particulary like the EDC basic sauce recipe but even if I am desperate and make it and halve it, it still makes way too much.

Bread / Bread from the Freezer - any tips to getting the slices not to stick?« on: May 31, 2012, 11:29:35 pm »
I am not a fresh bread person, I prefer toast hence why I freeze my bread.
I have just started making my own but I find that the slices stick together and always break apart. Whereas If I buy a commercial loaf, I never usually have this issue, the bread sticks but can be easily plied apart without much effort. Any hints or ideas ? 12

Wow is all I can say - delicious flavoursome - was a real hit with me, DH & 2 year old son! The flavour was sooo much nicer than the EDC stroganoff - I'll use this base instead for beef strog instead.
5/5 (not sure what the PP meant by it tasting bland at the end? Wasn't bland to my tasting!) 13
