Dairy Free Option (for DS #1) :)

Buttermilk replacement - 1 generous tablespoon of fresh lemon juice in a cup and fill with soy milk, sit for a couple of minutes to thicken and stir gently.  Next time I will add anther 50gms of soy milk to the mix as it was not sticky at all.
Butter replacment - Nuttelex same quantity.

I'm not sure I have made scones since cooking classes in high school but DH was impressed.

I think I will have to check out the Midland store on the weekend.

January family holidays in Mandurah was the only time we ever had "Tank" bread.   It looked like the rainwater tank at the farm!

Bread / Re: Plain White rolls - no fuss

Warning:  One should not fall asleep whilst dough is in the thermomixer rising!    :-))

Who knew so much dough could fit through the MC hole.   :o

Well it was midnight when I woke to this so just chucked it in a bread tin and turned the oven on and put if straight in whilst it was heating up.  Looks like a nice loaf of bread but I'm sure those Teenage DS's will confirm this one way or the other in the am.  They wll be slightly devasted however that there are no actual rolls. :D

Introduce Yourself / Re: It arrives in sheffield tomorrow!

I do not regret my purchase for a second and don't think I ever will.

I used to love cooking before having my children.  Then finding myself raising 2 boys alone and the associated sports etc, and fulltime management positions I never had the time and cooking became a chore.

Now I am cooking things that I have never ever cooked before as it took too long or you had to stand there and keep stirring.

Enjoy!

I'm going to try this today with Soy and Nuttelex (Dairy Free Marg).  Will take the hint on the little less sugar.  Thanks

This was so easy and the 2 x DS Teens ate the lot.  I managed 2 mouthfuls and it tasted wonderful.

Was reading all the posts yesterday morning (as it was a Public Holiday and I had time) and decided I might give these a go.

OMG!  They are fantastic!  DS Teen said "pretty good".  I will take that as a big compliment.  Thankyou Thankyou.

Breakfast / Re: Rara's Pancakes

Thanks Rara

My 2 x Teenage DS's really liked them.  Although I require a Dairy Free for 1 DS so swapped the butter for Nuttelex and the Milk for Soy.  I did add an extra splash of soy milk which I find quite normal when converting from Milk to Soy and adding to flour.  And they looked like the picture!

Cakes / Re: Never Fail Cupcakes

Just made these for my son's cricket team tomorrow.  Never really made cupcakes but these were so easy.  They look good so I'm sure a dozen teens will wolf them down in no time.
