I have an instant pot. It is a very popular addition to the kitchen here in England and I have to say very versatile with many ways of using it. I tend to often use it as a pressure cooker. I think it well worth it. It says everything that mine is always on the work surface and not in a cupboard.

A year has gone by since I posted about the Paleo diet and it's good effect on my high blood pressure. I was so pleased to be taken off the medication. I lost 3 stone which I was very happy about and then my doctor told me that my Diabetic medication could be stopped too. Over this past 10 months, I have slowly and badly cheated and come back to normal Thermomix diet and lo and behold my blood pressure came back just a little and the doctor still sends me for diabetic checkups without medication and I have put 10lb back on. Well I am declaring that Paleo worked for me before and I am back on it again. I hope to be back on track by 2017! I wish Thermomix would bring out their own book on Paleo with chip but I have quite a collection of Paleo recipes.

It may even be a few years ago that I read a post on here describing a tray which sits on the kitchen worktop. The tray had 2 layers the top one of which had the Thermomix (or any other heavy machine) stood on it and you could pull that layer forward with the machine on it and without effort leaving behind the other layer which stabilized it. You then just pushed the machine back when finished. What a good idea for under the top cupboard machinery, I thought. I saw that this was sold in America but not in England. Does anyone own one of these and can anyone direct me to a supplier?

This is a 4 portion recipe but I scaled it down to one portion. This is a pleasant smoothie. The oats and nuts content were reduced to being the slightest powder, in fact, almost gone. I love Cinnamon and nutmeg and it was these that gave it that apple crumble twist. Next time I will use a stronger apple like “Granny Smiths”. I am guessing that it will be one of those breakfasts that stop any hunger pangs till lunchtime because I am now full and struggling to finish the last inch in the glass.

I did contact Vorwerk on this matter and this was their response; "Hi Dorothy, many thanks for getting in touch. We’re sorry to say that that there is indeed a mistake on the Apple and Sultana Porridge recipe that appears on the recipe chip. The quantities are listed correctly on the ingredients list at the beginning of the recipe as well as in the book itself, and the error occurs in the recipe steps only. Please rest assured however, that our recipes are tested and proofread very thoroughly before they’re published. We’re very sorry that this error occurred during the chip’s production process, and we hope that it won’t discourage you from continuing to use the chip as we feel confident that you’ll enjoy the other wonderful recipes immensely." It therefore appears that I must do my own proof reading as the chip is not to be trusted..........not good enough for £20!

I received my chip for "The British Isles on a plate and of course wanted to give it a go straight away so I made porridge for my breakfast. Day 1 of owning the new chip "British Isles on a plate" was very disappointing. The recipe on the chip is vastly different than that of the book. Chip says 30g oats (book says 80g) chip says 180g of milk (book says 200g) chip says 180g water(book says 250g) This is not clever, doesn't anyone check anything these days. I am wondering what other mistakes I am going to find. I should be able to trust the Thermomix chip or on the other hand, should I trust the book?.........poor and disappointing result so far.

Looking at the picture I can almost taste it. I am glad that you advised an extra egg. It is so useful to have the new books tested. I have just bought in the ingredients for the chicken and leek pie Page 54. It is one of my favourite combinations.

Today I made this bread again but this time as a bun loaf (or fruit loaf) I added 2 tbs of maple syrup to the apple sauce. I mixed into the dry ingredients 1 TBS mixed spice, 1 TBS cinnamon and 1/2 tsp nutmeg. after everything was mixed I added 3/4 cup of raisins and 3/4 cup chopped walnuts and stired them in. This made a 1 lb loaf. It was absolutely delicious.

Hi Troupie, I am feeling so much better and continue to improve as well as lose weight. I have been following the 9 episodes of The Truth About Cancer: A Global Quest” This is a program airing in America in fact the last episode is tonight. It gives a detailed account of the money grasping Pharmacutical industries. They make billions out of cancer and in particular Chemotherapy medicine. They make sure that the truth doesn't get out about dieting to make your auto-imune system healthy to prevent cancer cells forming and other problems like arthritis because they are unable to get control of any cures that come from natural sources like plants etc. Well enough of the soap box from me but I would urge everyone to watch this series if it comes your way because I believe that the Paleo principle is the healthy way to go and a Thermomix makes it easy to follow. From grinding Almond and coconut flours and producing Ghee and well a host of other help I get from this machine.

There are many recipes for Paleo bread. I need a plain white that can be made into mini loaves and frozen and I wanted it to slice well and to be able to spread with butter without it falling apart and finally to taste like bread. ( Here is my favourite that takes just 3/4 hour to make. ) You could double this quantity if you need to freeze a larger amount.
Paleo Sandwich Bread in mini tins
4 Eggs 1/2 cup Applesauce 1/2 Tbs Coconut Oil 1 cups Almond Flour 1 cups Tapioca Flour 1 desertspoons Baking Powder 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
1. Preheat oven to (190 c).
2. Grease loaf pans or line with parchment paper When making "minis" like mine, I spray my tins with a cake release spray.
3. Add eggs and apple sauce and coconut oil into the TMX bowl and mix 20secs/speed 3 (don't overmix)
4. Add all the dry ingredients to the egg mixture mix 30secs/speed 4 to a smooth consistency. Stop and scrape down as required.
5. Divide the mixture between the pans to make loaves. .Bake for approximately 30-50 minutes for loaves or 15 minutes for muffins, or until a toothpick test comes out clean. My general rule of thumb is that when you begin to smell it (provided you have a decent sense of smell), its nearly done and should be checked.
6. Bread will keep for about 5-7 days in a ziplock bag, or you can slice and freeze, toasting individual slices as desired. This is a great recipe to make in a large batch so you can freeze extra loaves and always have something on-hand.
Reviews 5 stars - This recipe made my 6 mini loaf tins. I found it moist and easy to cut. It tasted really just like plain bread and I was able to spread butter on it without difficulty. - 21/10/2015

A new book and it's chip is coming soon called "The best of the British Isles" Apparently the book is also available as a hostess gift. I don't know if this chip is just intended for Britain but I am just happy that it will be written in English. There are several chips in German but being a lazy language student they are no good for me.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I am still firmly Paleo and the weight is still slowly coming off. My doctor is planning to test me for my Diabetes at Christmas. He says that if he finds me normal he will be convinced about Paleo as then it would prove itself in addition to the now normal blood pressure. I am working on it because those Metformin tablets they give us for Diabetes are so big to swallow. It would be a great Christmas present.

Well Cookie, I suspect that the comfort box is for the comfort of the machine in travelling and not for me at all although I liked your prompt thought.

Thanks everyone. Well I decided that CC was right and I have contacted Thermamix or should I say Vorwerk. They asked for photos and straight away said that it is something to do with the bonding of the outer casings and is not a sealant. I liked the way they said that someone would call on me on monday with a "comfort box". They will take it and return it in 5 days. A very nice service. All I need to do now is to do the recipes I have planned and freeze them.

Has anybody else had the problem of that fine line of sealant around the edge of the TM5 breaking off. I have never had any problems with Thermomixers in almost 35 years but now I notice that the sealant is breaking away. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
