Thanks for bumping this GF. I only ever got the free 5 book free version. I think I should look at a full subscription to get the most of the few    cookbooks I have.

You're welcome, Mich - I really think it's worth it considering we tend to pay way more than $25 for a book . . . just consider it another cookbook . .    (I'm up to 80 but there are a few more to go . . .

I agree with Hally - you forget which recipes you have and often find all sorts of things in the books you have as its so easy to search through them using eat your books. Not all my books are indexed but I've indexed a few myself for EYB which is useful. I certainly get my money's worth out of this site.

So do you need to rearrange your bookshelves in alphabetical order by category?? Ie sweet, savoury, drinks, aperitif/party food.. Obviously my french books wont be on there   i spent forever today looking for a cookbook I couldnt find lol..

I haven't had a look at this site yet, but will do so as soon as I can.  Can you search by cuisine / category, i.e. vegetarian?  What happens if you decide to unsubscribe - does your account stop dead then but you can continue to refer to what you have got listed at that point or do you lose everything you have loaded into the program? (it's possible no one has an answer to that question as it doesn't sound as if anyone has unsubscribed as yet).

Frozzie - you don't have to arrange your books in any order - just select them from the list of books they have on the site to put them on your "bookshelf". You can then search by recipe name, ingredient, course, ethnicity, vegetarian etc and it will come up with a list of recipes and the books they are in. You can also add magazines and some food blogs to your bookshelf as well

I have had a chance to have a quick look round (about 1 – 2 minutes only, so very superficial).  Do you have access to ALL the books listed in the library, or is access only available to your personal books?

You have access to all the books in as much as you can see them (titles). When you add a cookbook to your personal bookshelf you will be able to search for recipes - it lists the name of the recipe and main ingredients, not the actual recipe - you get that from the cookbook on your kitchen shelf.

Prior to using, EYB, I had all my books in categories,  such as Bread, Asian etc.   now I have them in alphabetical order.   Something about my mind set prefers them in category.   Also I have over a 100 books that are not in the EYB general library .  This is because they are old, very Australian ,( Tasmanian Table ), or a collection of recipes,  not by a single author.  Proactive authors have indexed their books.( Karen Martini, Alyce Alexander)  If you have a book that is not indexed,  you can request that EYB index it.  When they have enough people asking ,  they index it. You can also offer to index a book that you have.  You are given a certain amount of time to do this.  
Friends often ring me for a recipe,  if I don't have one at hand,  I use EYB and can quickly find a recipe,  in my collection that will suit.
It took me a full day to catalogue over 300 books and put them in order.  Not too bad for the convenience.

So far I only have the free bit but I do receive their emails. I intend to join as I know it would make me use my cookbooks more. I have heaps of books and literally tons of magazines to do.

Thanks chookie thats what i thought... My cookbooks are in rough order but i need to redo it properly and seperate languages as well..

Thankyou bonsai but i was talking about the actual bookshelf so that once you find a recipe title on eyb that you can find the actual book and recipe lol
