I was reading somewhere yesterday about someone who said they did mass amounts of caramelised onions every now and again and froze them in portions for adding to cooking. Great idea I thought.

Obbie, havent even  looked through 1/2 of my pantry yet. So many things at the back & in the middle.

My plan was to clean it out ths week, but it can wait :)

One week I might do a dairy chalenge, whch will mean buying milk, cheese,  yogurts & creams only, see if I could last a week.  ??? :o
This way I would use up a lot more tinned & frozen products. Not to mention packets too.

I think it is possible, as I have so much stuff. What do you think?

Have to look at doing a menu & seeing how it goes.

Well this week I went over, but considering my mum has stayed on (she got the flu and didn't feel up to travelling like that) I don't think I was too bad...$111.11  :D  - for 3 Adults and 3 girls.

Obbie i think its doable.

Should be able to get  through the week, my problem will be the following week as  my fruit  & veg comes thursdays. Will just have to get a few things from the shops the following week if needed or see what I can create. I have a lot if fresh veg atm. Plus I have about 30 eggs :)

I have a fair bit of tinned fruit. Lots of creamed corn, better start googling recipes for corn. Canelini beans, chick peas.
Frozen mixed  veg, at least 2 bags that I know of, peas, spinach, not sure what else.

Will be fun to try for the week.
Pizza is def on the menu.

Looking forward to seeing your menu.

Good week, only spent $49 for the week  ;D. We bought $35 worth of coffee beans, but didn't count that, as we bought it from the Club with bonus points - I didn't even realise my husband had that many points on his card.

Have 100g chicken breast and one roast left in the freezer. Four tins of beans and one tin of tomatoes left, certainly have been using up bits and pieces! We are going camping for the weekend - no shops, so no more spending except on diesel.

Halex, I am sure a dairy challenge would work well - quiches, pizzas, chicken in yogurt etc  Yum.

Gert, do you  have anything eft in the freezer. Your last photos it looked bare. What did you spend this week :)

I cooked a chicken which cost me just over $13 in the pc, it weighed 1.8kg.  Shreded it & decided to weight it, just over 500g of meat, breast, thigh & drumstick. Not very economical at all!!!

It is nearly all in the soup, apart from enough for 1 pizza & the frame is now making stock. Still a bit if meat on the frame in the pc.

We are now having the soup for dinner.

 :)
