I have to do this now as I've posted a topic on my blog telling everyone that I'll be doing this challenge!!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

:D Well, I made it - no spending (and can't today, a public holiday so we are spending the day together as a family!!! Week 2 spent $0!!!! Very happy!
H - we have long life milk as a back up and the soy milk DD2 has is long life too so we have been using that this week. (tho it was a little embarassing when the in-laws turned up with MILs brother and wife from mainland and I only had soy milk left for their coffees/teas!!!)  :-[ They didn't seem to mind tho!!! And as for fruit and veg, I have a fridge, freezer and pantry with some in (not much in the fridge now) and a veg garden that I'm still getting capsicums, leeks, spring onions and tomatoes from, a lemon tree loaded and an apple tree with apples still on - tho they are only worth cooking with now.
I am very happy - hope I can stay below $100 next week... ;)

That's why I spent $140.00 on my no spend week.  Lindt chocolate was on special at $1.85. Half a dozen blocks later and more specials I'm over the budget. Although mine does include toiletries and cleaning products.

Astarra, well done, I have just  planted some more veggies so hopefully in 6-8 weeks I can start picking some. I have rocket & spring onions atm. Wish we could drink ll milk, just can stand it.

Yes Michele I saw that lindt too, its still on specal here until tomorrow, so I am sure I will end up buying a couple.

This week is going to be really hard to stick to budget as I need so much, but I am going to try. Have cancelled my fruit & veg order as I think with a few bits from the shops I can cope.

Did some shopping, bought hardly anything & spent $44.80!!! Cant belive it.
1 avocado, 1 cucumber, $2 bag spinach, garlic 2 bulbs, punnet f green beans, vegemite, evvo, paprika & ham, that was it!! The evvo was $18.99

The 1/2 price lindt chocolate is not looking promising >:(

Obbie, good site, thanks :)

I'm heading to get my milk and bread soon (that's all I need) can I walk out of the supermarket with just milk and bread? Not sure I trust myself ;D

Ok I spent a little more as I brought 2 family packs of arnotts biscuits @$1.99 each and some lemon butter to make fundj's condensed milk cheese cake. And I got 6 litres of milk and 8 loaves of bread for $30.05 :D
Will keep a track of my spending and let you know total at end of f/night.

As my DH always says, 'it's only a bargain if you need it.' I have this nagging voice in my head now every time I see specials in the supermarket.  ;D
I'm so happy to be doing this challenge.  The savings are stacking up and I'm discovering things in my pantry and freezer that pre TMX days I'd have wondered what I could use them for but now I'm inspired!

Fascinating reading Robyn. I will book mark for more study. Got this off the site - and its great:

Miracle Spray
1.5 litre water (inc. 1 x cup boiling water)
300ml vinegar
60ml dishwashing liquid
25ml eucalyptus oil
3 dessertspoons Lectric washing soda

Mix together and decant into spray bottles for kitchen and bathroom etc. Recycle your toilet cleaner bottle and pop this in it.  You can read more about it on the website, but you can clean around the home, even removes stains from clothes. Gives a "clean" smell too.
