You will have a great time in Singapore Hally - we love it and ohhhhhhh the shopping. Orchard Road has all sorts of wonderful designer shopping!  Always have a couple of nights stopover there on a trip. Told our kids they should go there for a holiday - so safe and clean and vibrant. Lots of fun bars and nightlife too  :)

Our country regional prices must be alot more expensive than city prices..... :)
$140-$160 is basic for us each week, then beef, lamb, fish in bulk.... :)

What a lovely DH you have Hally, enjoy your holiday  :)

Sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks, school holidays have kept me extremely busy and I have not been on-line much. I had had my 5 year old niece staying with me last week, her mum (my brothers partner) has cancer and is terminal. I tried to keep her busy so she did not miss her Mum and Dad too much, lots of outings to the playground and friends houses and lots of buying lunches.

My plan was to spend $250 a fortnight and in the first 2 weeks I ended up spending around $260, happy with that. I have my Birthday Christmas In July party this coming Saturday for around 25 people and I have been spending money on extra items in preparation. I had a budget of $200 for the party food, I bought a frozen 5.5kg turkey breast for $55 and a 4kg ham for $24, which gives me $120 left for everything else, I think I will be coming in way under budget as I did the mini Christmas puddings 2 months ago and I already have most of the ingredients for the other desserts on the menu. Lots of money left for some bubbles for me  ;)

We will probably be eating leftovers in various ways the following week so should not have to spend anything apart for fresh fruit and milk.

So sorry to hear about your SIL Queen Be.

You've done very well staying on budget and having a party to cater for as well.
I think Hally's Christmas do is next weekend.

Yes my christmas in July is this sunday. 17 adults & 17 kids I think.

My budget us $100 for the week & I am trying to stay in the budget or as close as possible. Changed my menu to do this. If I achieve budget I will be very pleased.

Queen Be, sounds like your doing really well.

H :)

Queen Be, am I right in thinking it is your birthday as well as your Christmas in July party this coming Saturday.  Let me know your birthdate and I will put you in my birthday book.  Have a great time on Saturday night.  I feel for your SIL and her family, how hard it must be when you have children so young - it distresses me just thinking about it so I can imagine what you are all going through.

Queen Be Happy Birthday for Saturday.
Sorry to hear about you SIL. My thoughts and paryers are with you xx

I just bought mum and I tickets to a Christmas in July fashion parade and afternoon tea. All proceeds got to CanAssist. CanAssist were absolutely wonderful when dad passed away. All his medical bills were paid by them.

Yes my Birthday is this Saturday, I started the Christmas in July party as a way of having a Birthday party without having a Birthday party  ;)

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts. My brother also has 2 boys aged 10 and 8 also. So very hard at the moment, my parents who are in their mid 70's are doing much of the running around for the kids, school drop off and pick up, sport, dancing etc etc, unfortunately they are in Sydney and I am 90 minutes away on the Central Coast. The least I can do is have my niece for the school holiday, she and my oldest DD are only 5 weeks apart and very close though.
