OK - I will join in this challenge too - even if just to see exactly what I am spending on food each week to start off with, and then see what I can reduce it down to!

Hally, would LOVE to be coming to the retreat weekend (I am originally from south west WA, so it would be like coming home for me) but I travel quite a lot with work, and have already been away heaps this year with more conferences coming up soon, and feel guilty about abandoning DH and the kids again - so no, sadly not coming this time  :(

Glad you're joining us Karen. It's amazing how much you can save and it seems to flow onto other areas of spending too.

Not if I keep reading the shopping thread  ;D  Maybe we need some kind of challenge for that too

I have given up reading the shopping thread as I want EVERYTHING.  I have avoided the pie maker and PC so far.  Did buy an electric Steam Boat.  Haven't posted it as I don't want to be a bad influence on others.

On the dairy challenge this week, will see how we go tomorrow.

I ordered my fish from this supplier 3 months ago. Fresh, snap frozen on the boat in the gulf.

10 kilos of barra, and 10 of King Salmon.

I still have 5 kilos of coral trout, and 5 kilos of prawns, and more bugs.. :)
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

Obbie that sounds amazing, I am jealous.

Well given my epic failure last week, this week I am attempting online shopping. That way I can see my total bill before clicking order. Have signed up to Aussie Farmers Direct and Woolworths online (assume we are allowed to use store names on here? I don't work for nor endorse either of them at this point!)

Yes, the shopping thread. No money being saved there.

I keep well away from the shopping thread. I don't have a PC! Slow Cooker, or Pie Maker and I don't want one......I think.

Now an electric Steam Boat  interests me.

I love steam boat meals in restaurants.

Oh dear Gert now you have me thinking :)

So far this week $35, yay. The dairy challenge is going to  be a monthly for me whist the pantry is so well stocked.

 :)

Wow. So these are not farmed fish?  I'm in Melbourne can we get similar deals?

I have 2 steam boat but neither are electric, we love using them, great for dinner parties, our friends keep hinting for another steamboat night.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Well this challenge did not start out well for me  :o :o  Bad day at work, and worse day with renovations at home, so we all went out to local pub for a counter meal for dinner.  Nothing grand, couple of schnitzels, couple of kids meals, couple of glasses of wine  ;)  and there goes $80  :o :o

Does eating out count in the $100 per week challenge??
