I've been going pretty well here too.  Coming in well under my $150 budget the last couple of weeks with a $120 and a $140 and they have included cat food, some hand soaps and big bottles of olive and canola oils.  ;D

With the earthquakes here lately, I've been extra conscious of stocking up on some canned goods and ready-to-eat stuff too (incl dried fruit, crackers etc).

I'm probably due for a bit of a freezer stock-up again in the next few weeks, so keeping my eyes open for meat specials.

I had a no spend week last week, as DH was away for 5 days. Pantry and freezers are overflowing here. ;D

My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

I haven't been over budget for a few weeks now  :D
Am getting a fair few gaps in my freezer now - so will be stocking up again once I have even more gaps....I see a gap and start baking, so it takes a while to get it down properly!!  :-))

I was fine while we were away as our meals were mainly vegetarian and absolutely no fuss. But now I am home things have changed radically.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Spending hardly anything on groceries since we got here as i was still  running stocks down then had to have a few meals out/takeaways this week because of builders.have had to buy cakes and biscuits for energy boosts at 4 pm, pity as my cakes are better.
Having fresh milk here makes all the difference as I go out to food shop much less.
When the kitchen is not quite so derelict and dusty will Go back to making our own yogurt etc.
need to clear out fridge as couldn't get to it for a week! Didn't expect that either.

Will buy bread for breakie when out to lunch today. Will be able to BBq from this week as have kitchen sink again. Difficult to make burgers when no sink available. Stacks of mince and beef in freezer!

I'm finding it hard to keep a track of actual food and things I would buy at the grocery store like cleaning products and toiletries.
DH has been shopping the last 2 weeks and has been putting things like socks, a sprinkler etc in. We still seem to be on our $120 a week budget just a little frustrating because the actual food budget is probably better than it looks on paper.

I'm more than $30 over budget this week - spent $183, but it does include $25 of pet food which will last about a month or more, plus quite a few of my regular items were multibuys this week so I have stocked up, so I "should" be under for the next couple of weeks or more.

Since this thread began, I've been striving to have a no spend week. Judy is very inspiring. DH just won't get on board.
The last couple of weeks he has shopped and I've been eating out of the pantry and freezer.
Came across this article - will show DH and maybe we can have 1 week without going to the grocery store?

Very good article Michele.I enjoyed reading it.I don't know if I could do it as I would miss fresh fruit and fresh veg.But I suppose if we had a big bill to pay we could try. :)

Great article Michelle. i know we have a lot of food stored but only ever use fresh fruit and vegies so wouldnt' want to go without that much but it makes you think how much we buy that isn't needed. I love the comments about organising just to fit more in - very true.  How has your decluttering going?
