I called into shops today needed milk and would usually pop lots of other bits in. Not today, thanks Gert for making me mindful.

Wow, I need to work on my freezer!  I have a Samsung side by side fridge freezer, with a big ice-maker unit, so it's a pretty small space, and I'm always complaining to DH that I'd like some space to freeze muffins, soups etc for lunches.  But maybe I can create a little more space in there.

$120 this week for me, but went over last week (almost $200  :o ) mainly due to cooking a big family dinner for DS's birthday (2 chooks and a big leg of lamb with potatoes, kumara, pumpkin and green vege).

The pantry & freezer idea really got me thinking about what to cook and buy this week and managed a $90 shop ($22 was for the TM demo I had last night to get the second bowl  :)).  We also came back from the beach and have plenty of fish in the freezer which will help.

Will be shopping on Monday and not looking forward to the bill. we are out of a lot of basics like pasta, tinned tomatoes etc. I thought we could use spaghetti broken up instead of pasta for one week but DH won't be in it. Oh well, so be it, I have put a halt to his sock habit lately.  ;D

DH loves loves socks  ??? He buys several pairs each week on our regular grocery trips. His favourites are a of pair hand knitted by forum member Marie. He just puts white sports socks in the trolley every week - don't what the go is?

I have to buy some fresh veggies but not buying anything for the freezer and pantry just yet. We will see how strong I am when I get back later.

I spent $27  only . Did well. Very strong. Told DH I was really economising and not buying anything we don't need at the moment until the freezer is EMPTY!  Saw some bargains and ignored them. Not bargains if you do not need them.

I've got my online order ready to go, but hanging out a few extra days. $140, so about at budget (slightly under) but I thought I would have a go at shopping every 9-10 days and see if I can keep it the same.
Having a sort out of the freezer too.
