You all are doing so well. The last fortnight we spent $231. I'm real pleased as our budget for shopping is $120 a week, I know it's only $9 under but in that we buy a packet of nappies each week for our oldest DD and SIL as they are expecting in January.  :D

Thankyou, we are very excited. It's actually DH's daughter but is the first grandchild on our side of the family.  :D

This is one I need to start doing! I do meal plan and that helps a lot but, I need to get into the kitchen and make up the basics so not buying so much. I made the hazelnut/ chocolate spread, and that was lovely, so no more buying that premade.. What basics do you all make?
Am I missing a link to basic recipes.?
I also make pizza paste, butter, and of course the stock.

Apart from basic recipes in the EDC Sue, you will find lots of basics in the condiment & sauces thread.

Was $196 last week - but I should not have to get any groceries over these school hols.  ;D
So I'm happy with spending that amount.

$180 this week. Not great but a few extras for the holidays. 😄

Last week I bought Two pork chops, a bag of salad leaves, 6 litres of milk, and 2 pun nets of cherry tomatoes. Also a newspaper about 4 days. It certainly didn't come to much.
This week will be different.

I am going to read all the way through this thread and give it a try because I am spending way, way too much for the two of us who need to lose weight. Cut down on the chocolate and use some food out of the freezer. When visitors have left I will start.
