I would have to agree with you cookie, I hate strong winds as well. Not as worried now as I used to be at our old house where we were surrounded by big gum trees. I wouldn't sleep at night waiting for a gum tree to fall on our house. We eventually got some one in to fall all the gum trees that were close to the house. I made sure I wasn't home when he fell the massive one that was the closest to the house incase it went the wrong way :)
Wind and fire would have to be my biggest fears. Other than that would definitely be something bad happening to one of my family members :(

Gert, hopefully the snake was asleep, then run fast. :)

Winds don't scare me, as we are so used to cyclones here, but I understand.
Everyone is scared of different things.

How about waking up to go to the toilet and finding a snake  on the floor between you and the toilet?  There is no one else in the house bar two sleeping doggies. What do you do?

I was born and raised in western Kentucky where every year there are tornadoes - not as many as on the plains to the west but near enough to "tornado alley" to be scary.

I now live where earthquakes occur every few years but not every year like tornadoes.  I much prefer this place.

I tossed a towel over the snake,  went to the toilet, removed towel and picked it up and took it out the door to the grass outside. The doggies never woke up and I never get out of bed without looking for it.

You must see plenty up there Robyn.

At least with towel over it  I was able to keep my eye on it . I then dragged the towel near the door  lifted it and grabbed  the snake and let it  sort of slither out. I confess I did not sleep so well after that. Ted  was in the hospital so he had an early visit.

Yes Gert, we see alot of snakes, in the garden, vege patch, and in the shed.
Often sunning themselves on the road too.

Its part of where we live.

We are lucky we don't get many snakes here ;) We get a lot of bob-tail lizards, but they are only scary when you don't realise they're there and then they move really quick and scare the bejeezus out of you :o

Im terrified of snakes and dh is phobic lol.. Says its not normal an animal on land has no legs lol!! They creep me out.. Just something about them ... Even harmless pythons creep me out.. They are often at my parents place in summer.. Eeek wrapped around pots or sunning themselves on the long driveway etc ... I always check under the beds and all over when im there... I broke my funny bone because of a snake.. Horse freaked out and threw me into a tree... Anything else i can handle..

We have had a snake each year along our drive way that has scared the kids a couple of times when coming home from school. But now I have removed all the old shrubs along the drive way I doubt we will see it again as there is no where for it to hide :)
Forgot to mention that I absolutely hate mice, can't stand the horrible little things. I have never seen any sign of any in the house since we lived here. Very happy about that :)

I just remembered that I do actually have a true phobia: needles. The thought of them makes me cringe and the sight makes me feel physically ill. Lord help anyone who comes at me with a needle... :-))

Lol how on Earth did I forget that when I posted earlier? ??? Must be one of those days...

I'm not a fan of mice either Mandi :( Evil little things they are!
