Yes Judy, awful start to the fire season, four lives lost. Heat, lightening and now windy a recipe for the disaster that has happened.

I had an appointment at 8.30 this morning and the receptionist was very concerned. Her parents live in the fire area (Gibson) and have been evacuated from their farm. However they can't contact her Aunt and Uncle who are also in the area. Poor thing, I feel for her.

They were saying on the radio yesterday that the conditions were catastrophic.

Sad news here, my oldest sister & BIL lost their farm in the Esperance bushfires yesterday.  Thank goodness they are safe and staying with their DS on his farm further south away from danger. They only had time to get photos, small filing cabinet and the dog, couldn't find the cat sadly. One of those chaps that died was a close mate of my nephew.
Mobile towers are burnt out and power off too, so not much contact at this stage.

Tragic tragic. All sympathies to you and your family. Is they're anything any of us can do for them?

Thanks Gert. Not anything we can do right now, such a helpless feeling. We are hoping they are coming to Perth on the weekend, they have a small unit that belonged to BIL's dear mum who passed away a few years ago. They use it when they come to Perth for medical appointments etc.

It's so sad to hear that news Katj, it's heartbreaking to be in that sort of situation.  They are safe, I guess that's the main thing.

Kat, that is awful. We saw some videos on the TV. I really feel for your family. What can families do in such circumstances. .? You can only leave.  I re packed our documents yesterday in readiness.  Ral has been slashing clear ways through the bush for fire trucks if they need to get in. All around the house is clear and green but we leave if it is a fire ban day.

Hi friends,
A sunny start to the day here after the storm last night.

This is sad news Katj.So devastating for everyone concerned.Bush fires are something we never experience in the UK.

What a horrible tragedy. I'm horrified by all the stuff going on at the moment, I like to keep my head in the sand and not focus on the sad/evil stuff too much, it's too depressing.

How awful Katj, livelihood and lives gone. It looked terrifying on the news, the fire well above the height of the trees. The only positive I can think is at least it was mother natures doing and not some idiot.
