I went from a walk in, walk around pantry to a cupboard. I have not room for anything I do not now use!

HI friends.
It rained all night so Chance and I face a muddy walk this morning
I've only lived in one house that had a proper pantry.I have two tall cupboards where I store my goods. It does make you feel good when they are clean and tidy.

DH and I are moving sometime before the end of March. We have bought a place in an Over 55 village and are very excited about it. We were planning to do it in approx 2 years when DH retired, but with the downturn in the economy, it has caused the super funds to take a nose dive and we thought we would do it now.
The kitchen in our villa has been refurbished and the pantry is only narrow but all the shelves slide out on runners so it will be easier to see everything.

How exciting for you Katj, good luck with selling your house and the eventual move. A bit of culling on the cards?

We drove around the Black Saturday fires today. 7 years later and you can still see so many blackened trees, and a lot of new buildings, replacing those lost.

Morning all.
Katj, I know how excited you feel. Good luck with the move and all it entails.
I am going to miss my Butlers pantry when we finally shift. All I have are lots of cupboards and the pantry is a tall cupboard with shelves. I thought I might turn the study off the kitchen into a walk in pantry but am resisting the temptation. Will live in the new house on and off while we sell and decide what I can cope with.
Cool and misty today. Lovely.

Back to work today.
My pantry was not messy, never is.we know where things are, and so does DH and kids. She has gone through my whole kitchen, baking stuff, plastics drawer, I am missing stuff now.. I will find it today.
Enjoy the move katj..

Good morning everyone, another beautiful day here. I'm really getting stuck into going right through the house again before the hot weather returns then I'll call the window cleaner to complete the job.
I hope you get your kitchen back to how you like it Robyn, your house sitter really kept herself busy whilst you were away.

That is very exciting Katj. I think you have done the right thing. I will get to travel over the river for our coffees.
Robyn, I know it is a dumb question but why do you have a house sitter? Wouldn't the neighbours get the mail and feed the animals?

Honestly, why don't people understand that if you use something of someone else, you leave it as you found it?
My mother sometimes uses things and then we haven't a clue where it's gone. But my husband avoids this argument by not cooking or doing dishes.

Thanks girls, it is exciting and we are looking forward to the next chapter of our lives.
Judy, we used to live North of the Swan River and the freeway traffic became so unbareable for DH on a daily basis, we moved South of the city close to where he works. We are renting where we are now so we don't have a house to sell which is great! We are moving back North of the city and unfortunately DH will either contend with traffic for another year or 2 or he can catch public transport which he doesn't mind. Where we are moving is walking distance to large shops so I won't need the car every day.
It is also a lot closer to DD and 3 GK's

I forgot to mention, we had booked to go to Melbourne to visit youngest DS,DDIL and 3 yo GS. It was booked 6 months ago when cheap fares were available, not the best timing now with packing up but we wouldn't change it. We hope to have most packing done before we go in 4 weeks, then move when we get back.
Lots of culling going on here!

You sound as if you have it all worked out nicely Katj. I love how our lives are in chapters or phases, only thing is that we are moving through them a bit too quickly for my liking LOL.
