Good morning everyone.  15 deg here at the moment.

We always have the traditional hot Christmas lunch here.  I think if I changed anything then no one would come :)  I do the cooking and the family do the serving and cleaning up while I sit back and relax.

Hi friends.
A frosty start to the day here but we have a clear blue sky. Haven't walked these past two days as I've got some sort of flu bug.Lost my appetite too. :P

That's no good Denise, right on top of that cough you've just gotten over.  Rest up, be kind to yourself xx

Look after yourself Denise. There is a flu like bug over here that keeps returning.

DH and I were out all day at a diabetes class for the newly diagnosed. We had fun. The people there were mainly our age, if the course had finished much later I think the presenters would have had difficulty maintaining control. We all seemed to get on very well and had a lot of laughs. We also learned quite a lot.

Morning all.
Silly season has finally hit. With our first Xmas here at Invermay, ( and a lot of things still at Cherokee) it is going to be interesting improvising.
CC, sorry to hear you are not well. Try and rest up.
Cookie, glad you had fun at your class.
Mab like what you do for Xmas day. We did similar for 20 years at Cherokee. 20 people for lunch and dinner. I cooked the hot lunch, sister brought Xmas Pud and sauces and friends always a beautiful Cake. Guests and family did all the washing up. ( no dish washer ) . I loved every minute but as I didn't finish work until 2 days before Xmas day, I usually spent Boxing Day in bed.

I wonder how your trade table at Wesley is going Judy?

It was excellent cookie, I was there for 5 hours and had 6 friends visit throughout the day so it turned into a real social event.  Everytime I went back into the room where the goodies were I spent more money but it was fun and there were heaps of people throughout the day. Hopefully eventually staff will let us know how much they made.

Great news that the trading table was a huge success Judy.Is there anything particular that the staff want to buy with the funds raised.

Is it just my iPad but have the adverts on the side of the website got bigger? They seem to be squashing the format even more  :o

I don't know what they will do with the money Denise, I think it's used for activities and outings for residents but I'm sure they will let us newcomers know more about it.  It's their major fundraiser for the year. They also have a Christmas raffle going at the moment.

I haven't been taking much notice of the ads but you could be right as the one there at the moment is about 1/3 of the page.  Obviously the advertising isn't getting through to me as I didn't look at it until your comment.
