Julie, I agree about the weather. Lovely.
I’m not a good gardener.  I have little luck growing seeds.  They grow happily self seeding in veggie patch. But today some came up.  These are Perennial Spinach.  Very handy as you can use a bit at a time.
I HATE my TMX 5.
Today it won’t let me access the chip. This has happened since the scales refused to work. Full service less than 6 months ago.
Good result was that I found Megan Jane ‘s recipe for sticky date pud.

Chookie how very annoying. I was going to say ‘frustrating’ but I think annoying is so right. I would be furious. Give it a good thump and say ‘go you bugger!’ That always worked for my Dad on the farm.

We have been having pleasant weather too. Almost cool enough to need a blanket in the early mornings. Today it’s going to be 31, but tomorrow 35, then a week of 33.  It could be worse.

My basil has had many babies. I let it go to seed and scraped the seeds off constantly before we pulled it out. DH has pinched a dried up bean that was hanging over the fence of people over the road. They are Chinese and we only get to wave as their English isn’t the best. We have planted it and some have come up, so we will try them when they fruit.

I loved the story about the bread Chookie.  I totally agree. I’m amazed that there is plenty of legumes in tins on the shelves.  Also dried ones.  We could survive with those.

My Mum was a fab cook.  Was making bread with yeast long before the dried stuff was available. We had a neighbour who was an Austrian pastry chef.  Mum would make a loaf, take it to him and he would cut it in half and then tell her what to do to improve it.
She even made Dim Sims before there were recipes.  That would be 70 years ago. She bought the ingredients from a Chinese shop and priced them at about 2 Pounds each . I hate to think what that would be at today’s money.

We have had the Septic tank pumped out this morning.

Loving our weather lately - warm - hot during the day but by 7 pm it’s starting to become really cool.  Great for sleeping.

We had 35 yesterday, it's forecast to be similar today and tomorrow but cooler after that.

DH not feeling great, he has vertigo again.

Oh that is awful Mab. It is such a horrible thing. Is he drinking enough fluids? I had it in the north  a few times and that was my problem.

Mab, vertigo is nasty.  Poor DH.  I get it when stressed. I have Valium which I take when I have an episode.  Probably about 4 times a year. The first episode was so bad I went to hospital by ambulance. It was really very funny.  The Ambulance officers tried to get me to sit up and I just kept rolling over.

I guess it was far from funny at the time Chookie. A nasty experience.
Cooler here today.. we have had 4 days over 35.  Hopefully that is the end of summer.

Cookie, that is very hot. Nasty hot north wind here today. 
Our weekly day out doing shopping and lots of other jobs.  Dr tomorrow and that will be it for a few weeks.  We are going in to lock down.  We are in the high risk group for the Coronavirus. DS rang last night and said now is the time to do it.  We are so lucky that we can do our normal things and keep busy.  Just not mix with anyone.  We are quite good at keeping our own company.
Today while waiting at the checkout at the Supermarket, 2 woman were discussing how they would cope.  One was making a large pot of soup and adding to it as need be.  Not a bad idea.
No flour or toilet paper, very little sugar and towel and serviettes. No baked beans and only a couple of packets of pasta and a little rice.

Not up yet Marina. 11 more days until it arrives from Poland, if it arrives. We are keeping everything crossed that it will happen.
