Julie, I can understand how you enjoyed the Kangaroos. We see a lot here. We love to see the joes. You show real dedication getting up so early to exercise. We have about a dozen fly traps around the house as the flies are horrible.
It hasn’t been a week yet since we went into self imposed isolation. Although we have had lots of phone contact with family friends and neighbours, I am starting to miss going shopping and the occasional meal out. I am enjoying the challenge of being extra economical and creative with my cooking. Trying new recipes to take advantage of what we have. A neighbour has asked for help as she wants to make some bread. No problem there.

We have a wholesale grocer nearby. I ordered and had delivered some bread flour and sugar for us, neighbours and family. They had sold out of plain flour and Laucke Crusty White.
Hot wind today. Change tomorrow.
Also had a delivery of Chook food. DD. Ex rang to see if we were ok and dropped of the Chook food.
Making Jam now.

DD had said she would go over to another shopping centre today to pick up some things for friends at work. I decided to go. Their shops were as empty as ours. No bread flour or mix of any sort. We buy wheat (pet food) to feed to the wild birds. I couldn't buy any this week, I do hope people aren't planning to grind it and make bread.
JulieO it is so beautiful when you see something special in our natural environment. It usually gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.

Morning all.
Our local shops are even more depleted,so I am told. DD has closed down the Paddle club at Ballarat and her Ski lodge at Mt Butler has been closed for the winter. Laucke has closed down all online orders. All Dr and Specialists in Ballarat have been put on standby to be called in when needed. Ballarat Council is giving free parking between 11 and 3. So many things are different and yet we drove around yesterday and all seems normal.
Cooler today. Good day for baking.

I think I said before all our car club outings are cancelled. Today I heard that book club is cancelled.
Warmer weather here today.

Finished the jam making and then a neighbour gave me a box of lovely peaches. Can’t waste them so will bottle them in the microwave.
Cool again today.
Easter not far off.

Good morning everyone. Still having internet problems, constantly dropping in and out.
Up early this morning and off to the supermarket, managed to get most of what I wanted but a lot of the shelves are still empty.
Family coming for lunch today to celebrate GD no.4's 18th Birthday.

One of our customers came in yesterday (a doctor of infectious diseases) and we had a chat over our shop bottle of sanitiser .. our customer said that people had been stealing hand sanitisers from her hospital and they were now running short. Absolutely disgusting. Anyway, we gave her a bottle of ours - it won't go far but I guess it's better than nothing - and hope that the hospital can get re-supplied soon.

I asked at the nursing home the other day if their toilet rolls were going missing and was told they always have! I cannot believe those who would stoop to this sort of behaviour Marina.

It is so sad to think that people would steal from a nursing home and hospital. A lady over here that was at a hospital supervising students I think stole masks, sanitiser and a few other things. She has been charged. I wish people would realize that if we allow the stores to re s tock there is enough for all of us to buy sensibly.

Our DD did our fruit and veg shopping for us today. Our local IGA have hired a team of stackers and nearly everything is available.
There are limited supplies of sterilisation liquid and masks available for medical practices and the Dental supplier has none.
She has told us not to go out and not to have anyone visit. We have been doing this for a week.

We have always used masks in our workshop so a couple of weeks ago I ordered some more. Previously they were c. $27.00 for a box of 50 ... suddenly they became $275.00 for the same box!! I cancelled the order and we scrounged around and found a couple more of our own in boxes lost in the bowels of the cellar.
You are right, if only people would stop panic buying there would be sufficient quantities of everything for everyone.
