Hi friends
I thought you would like to know DH and I have had to put Chance to sleep. Our beautiful 15 year old boy declined very quickly and we knew it was the time to say goodbye. I won’t lie it was very difficult decision but he was struggling. At the time GS and DD were staying with us and they had the opportunity to say goodbye before we headed to the vets. Although we both love dogs we are not having anymore.

Oh Denise I’m so sorry to hear this but I agree with your decision to step in before it became too difficult for Chance. Having your family there wouldn’t have made the decision any easier but their support would have been invaluable. Rest assured that Chance has had a wonderful life with you and your family, the pleasure he gave you was so obvious to those who know you well. Sending much love and many hugs at this difficult time dear friend and goodbye to your darling Chance.

CC, that is very sad., but from what you have said, a sound decision. Like you, we decided not to have any more. We do enjoy doggy sitting though.

Such sad news, CC. Chance was such a big part of your life for so many years, there will be an empty place in your hearts now where he once resided.

Oh how very sad for you all. We love our pets so much and they are part of our families. You have made the right decision as t would be so very hard to watch them suffer. Sending big hugs to you all Denise.

Still very cold but no rain today.  11 max.
Didn’t know it was illegal to take fallen trees from road side, for fire wood. Can’t make any sense of this rule.

The am so are cute. What a silly rule Chookie.
It’s 1.45pm here and 13 degrees. I’ve just put the heater on. 🥶🥶🥶🥶

Lambs are so cute. Who would have thought taking fallen trees from the roadside would be illegal, how did you find that out Chookie - are you in jail LOL

Judy, the local paper keeps sending us messages about the trees.
Cold but sunny today.  Beautiful Winter day.  Spent most of day in the garden. Yesterday we spring cleaned the chook house.

Chookie, I think the thing with the trees is because they naturally become habitat for wild life ... I don't know for sure, but I am sure I heard that somewhere.

Cleaned out my hens last weekend as well.  Put a full load of straw on the floor and within the hour they had scraped it all out the door, so I kicked it back in again and it was out again about an hour later so I kicked it in once more, but piled it up in a corner they don't tend to go to - I didn't see the end result of this one as I had to leave to get back to Melbourne before they got locked up by my neighbour for the night!  They simple did not appreciate their lovely new "carpet"  :o
