Slow cooker question. I was expecting interstate visitors today so put my 2.5 kilo silverside into the slow cooker this morning on low. It is pretty much at the yummy stage now at 1630. My visitors are now not arriving until lunch time tomorrow. Question: Can I turn the slow cooker off leaving the silverside in the slow cooker tonight then turning it back on low in the morning. To have a meal for lunch? Would you do that? Gert
It was supposed to be me showing off with the good smell , whipping off the top of the pot and voila. Ummm. Have taken the meat out. Practically no shrinkage after 8 hours. It will go I to the fridge . I have strained the water and it too will go into the fridge to be boiled in the morning then to go into the bloody slow cooker followed by the beef and perhaps some potatoes and cabbage. Or maybe I will have it cold. I am over the slow cooker already. But I also have a bunny in the freezer. That would be good in the cooker. Anyone cooked a rabbit in their crock pot?Gert
