I can't even begin to think how terrifying a cyclone if that magnitude would be!

So here'e hoping Ita turns tail and heads back out to sea or loses intensity. Please stay safe all. And Gert, hope you have a back up bottle just in case ;D

Apologies. Didn't mean to be insensitive. I have sat through many cyclones over the years (although must confess I don't remember bits of a couple ;D)

Definitely get some back up supplies Gert. Nothing worse than running low/out of essential supplies.

Good point.  My DD  and her DH's live in the waterfront in Cairns. He has already made 2 quick trips to the bottle shop. DD is not happy that he forgot the coffee beans in favour of beer!  They are moving all their outside stuff inside but they can't move  the fridge from the patio. Hope the. Ever and fridge don't go flying over the edge.

Gert please start the Muscat before it is really needed. I have proved during a couple of cyclones that you can drink exorbitant amounts without it having any effect what so ever. Take care dear friend and all others up there.

batten down the hatches FNQ's. I've never been in a cyclone before, and hate windy weather. you are a wise woman Gretch (and funny) and I like the idea of the muscat. you may wake up tomorrow when its all over and wonder what all the fuss was about  :-*

Yep I'm scared for you all too. I have never experienced a cyclone. We've had some horrible storms with nasty winds, but that's not even close. Please take care girls in FNQ. Gert, you need choc teddy bears to suck up the muscat. Stay safe xox
