I saw the weather the storm Ciara brought to you Denise. It looked horrible.

The time won’t go quickly enough for you but you’ve been patient this long Denise and it’s so nice to hear of the progress.

It's always great to see the progress of the build, CC, once the framing starts going up, then the walls, windows, roof, etc. you can then really get an idea of the finished project. The hardest part is as it nears the end ... all you want to do is get in there and settled down in your home again!

Nice and cool this morning.
Looking forward to getting out into the garden.
GS came yesterday after school and did some odd jobs.

A nice and cool morning here too Chookie. Quite overcast at the moment though we aren't forecast any rain.
Had a much better sleep last night with the lovely cool breeze coming in the window instead of having the ceiling fan on. Very windy down the beach this morning.
DH noticed the bricks around our outdoor tap that's attached to the house were darker than the rest and thought there might be a water leak in there. He removed some of the bricks and found water spraying into the cavity
Managed to get a plumber to come within a couple of hours and new piping and tap was fitted pretty quickly. Just need to let it dry out before DH bricks it back up again. My water bill is due soon, will be interesting to see if the leak has been happening for a while

You were lucky catching that leak, JulieO. We knew we had one for months and months and couldn't find it ... the only reason I knew we had it was because of the water bill. We eventually found it in the garden, after our plumber had visited us about 4 times to try to find the leak - we were scared it might have been our under floor heating

We had several water problems when we moved into this house. Burst pipe under the hand basin in the ensuite, another in the laundry, 3 at the outside tap and then the HWS burst in the middle of the night. We ended up having the water pressure reduced to the house.
It's quite humid and sticky here today. Don't like it at all.

I hope you don’t get a shock when the water bill arrives Julie. Good spotting by DH.

Water leaks are devious things to find. I hate them. We spotted another one last weekend, but it was a slow one and outside in the garden again. All good now.

Our water meter is in our front garden so we notice if it is going unexpectedly. Water leaks can be very expensive.
Another 36+ day here and quite humid.

I had a bad leak no bugger could find. Went through 3 plumbers before it was found. I claimed on my home insurance by calling it exploration rather than straight plumbing and they paid it. Then when I got my water bill from the council we had a robust discussion and they agreed to halve the bill. Whew!

There is nothing like a robust discussion to help sort people out Gert.

Gert, love this tale.
When we came to Invermay, we had no idea where the water was coming from. We have several tanks and town water. The previous owner left us a diagram but it had very little relationship to what was happening. When we turned on a tap we had to stand next to the big tank to listen for the pump.
