Staying home seems the new normal. We have a lot of visitors but don’t go out if possible. All visitors are double vaccinated.
Marina, well done with the RAT tests.
Cookie, states have a responsibility to look after their citizens.

Yesterday we had 3 inches of rain in 4 hours. We had visitors and they couldn’t  leave. Lots of coffee and biscuits consumed. They had come to collect a SD loaf which I swapped for a smoked salmon.

I had my booster yesterday, very sore arm this morning so I cancelled my first gym class for the New Year. I would have been limited to the use of only 4 pieces of equipment out of the 12 I use so not worth going. Now to buy a RAT kit as soon as they become available.

My brother had his on Tuesday and said he had a very sore arm too.
Not worth going to the gym then Judy.
I have another sinus infection, its driving me mad as Panadol aren't helping much with the headache, I got some antibiotics yesterday so they should kick in soon. Also had my 6 monthly diabetes check up. All is going will there. No medication yet, but I was warned that it is coming.

For some reason this nurse injected it much higher in the arm than the 2 AZ’s I had elsewhere cookie. Good luck with the antibiotics and I hope you can continue to stave off medication for your diabetes as long as possible.

Many people we know have complained of a sore arm after the COVID injection.
Judy,  in Vic, or even Ballarat , I wouldn’t even consider going to a gym. 
More rain yesterday.  Not as much.  Most of our drive is on the road.

Our gym is different Chookie, it’s a wellness centre for the older generation. Our instructors wear their masks but we can remove ours when exercising and the numbers are limited. We’ve only had a couple of lockdowns in the whole 2 years of Covid. My arm is OK now, the soreness only lasted 2 days.

That’s good information about your arm Judy. We have to wait another month.

We will be trying to get our boosters as soon as we get back from holiday.  We are at about 4 1/2 months since our second shot so the booster will be close to the 5 month mark, which I believe means it could be more effective than if we got it closer to 4 months. Almost all the people we have spoken to / heard from have complained of pain from the booster.

Judy your Gym sounds very good.     
COVID has finally taken off in Ballarat. We have had very few cases for 2 years but for the last 2 days we have had nearly 200.
I always cooked with our GC when they were young.  It has paid off.  GD is sending me photos of the soup and bread she is making.
31 today.

That’s hot. We are back to 36 tomorrow and I believe 39 Wednesday. The cool days have been wonderful.

It’s our Wedding anniversary today. 58 years. Amazing. Normally we would go out to celebrate but not today. We have cancelled or postponed all but the most essential appointments. Not sure how long this pandemic will last but we are just going to have to sit it out.
